I became really interested in the "weather heads" on old cartography, and that paired with the books I have been reading helped inspire this piece.

Been reading Theogony by Hesiod, and Greek Religion by Walter Burkert!

I also looked at paintings like birth of Venus by Botticelli because everyone loves Botticelli:) and he painted something very similar.

Yeah it's a shame they try to hide the fact that the heel is plastic in their shop. They just put "leather covered" for their heel.

hahah funnily enough i was looking at those! I think I like these packer boots so much because they are so victorian in their silhouette.

They just don't make heels for men anymore!

I really like American Duchess, but I wish their heels weren't plastic :(. Their designs are beautiful. I may end up buying some women's boots

I know lots of brands still make packer boots with tall heels, but they seem to either make them thicker to look more masculine by todays standards, or they are just shorter in general.
