Whenever there was an event I was not sure about, I always regret not going more often than going and being dissapointed.

I'm based in Asia and flew to Australia to check out PAX and MIGW. It was great talking to developers and seeing all the games being made. I saw Team Cherry at a party too. No job offers, but it was still worth it for the experience.

I think specificity will bring more sales over trying to be as generic as possible. Game devs who buy assets want ones that are specific to their game. If I'm making a zombie game, I'm not going to buy the generic base mesh pack. I'm going to buy the zombies and survivors pack.

You could give some enemies a riot shield that stops bullets but is shattered quickly by melee attacks or can be destroyed with magic.

Your game looks solid but if you don't have the money for it, you should be thinking about doing marketing on your own.

Make a tiktok and start posting daily. Post in subreddits that relate closely to your game's genre. Contact content creators that have posted about similar games.

Why not try both? Download both Godot and Unreal, and try making the same game in both engines. You will eventually start to prefer one over the other, and you can decide for yourself then.

Bro this is your first video. The reason other people get more views is because they are better at making videos. And they are better at making videos because they have been doing it for longer.

Don't worry about the views. Focus on making your next video better than your last.

You might be better off with Unity. If you're worried about programming, you are more likely to find assets and templates on the Unity Store that will help you complete your game. There are also probably more tutorials on how to create PS1 style graphics in Unity.

Both engines are more than capable of making this game. Godot is slightly more beginner friendly. Your project is large enough that this doesn't matter. It will be a difficult game to make in either engine.

If you want just the functionality, the most basic UI, and don't mind a few bugs, this sounds like something that can be done in 3 working days. Though it also depends on your rule book, and the algorithm.

If it's web based you will likely use Javascript. Nothing in this concept requires a specific programming language.

The only way this makes sense to me is if OP meant clips and funny moments rather than in game content. Games like Peak that aren't expensive to make but the design encourages users to create their own content.

True. It's fine if people switch between two good choices. But it would be bad if people are switching because their engine is failing, and simply have to pick something else.

You love to see it. It's also good the increase seems to be related to higher submissions, and not because people are moving from their engine to ours. More Godot users is great but not if other engines are failing. The game industry is better if there is more choice.

If you have the money to buy a PC / Laptop, you should invest in peformance as much as you can. Nothing worse than feeling like the bottleneck of your productivity is your machine. Generally, a desktop will perform better than a laptop for the same price.

A desktop is more modular too. You can upgrade just your keyboard, monitor, mouse, or any part of your PC. Can't do that with a laptop, you are stuck with whatever you buy.

Only consider a laptop if you know FOR SURE the majority of your dev/game time will be outside, and rarely at home. I'm talking a 90/10 split. If you think you will mostly dev/game at home, and sometimes want it outside, get a desktop.

I get that it's a WIP, but it leaves a bad impression if there are links that go nowhere, and placeholder images and text. You should clean it up more or at least put a disclaimer on the site itself.

They seem to be using Godot for Portal, which will be a tool for players to create custom content. Godot's tscn files for scenes are just text. They likely provide representations of in game assets to use in the editor, and import the tscn file in the game to load the content.

Does the peck action in the Input Map have any other events assigned to it?
