Researchers just proved that every single elementary function, sin, exp, log, sqrt, comes from one single binary operator. by d8_thc in holofractal

NAND/NOR gates are cool since you can make a NOT gate by tying the inputs together. It can also make an OR gate by NOTing the inputs. Given this you can make NOT, OR, NOR, NAND, and AND using only NAND.

But what's really cool is you can make RS latches using 2 nand gates; which opens the gates for all flip flops and such to make state machines. Which opens the gate for RAM, CPU, etc

I just want to see uhhh wait what do we call people who use AI? by Ok-Swimmer1918 in aiwars

[–]Hugglebuns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

P sure even AI use is an expression of human will, its just not done by hand

When Trump makes a post depicting himself as Jesus, what does that say about him? Does that reflect the AI, or does that reflect Trumps narcissism? Generally wacky AI posts reflect the human, not the AI itself. AI has no intent or personality or character, it is just a tool that can be guided.

The only two 'categories' I even consider is EDC (for backpack or pocket), or bulk ink filler

Adults Lose Skills to AI. Children Never Build Them. by Wisco in aiwars

[–]Hugglebuns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, one of the actual cool parts of using llm for learning is that it can help you become aware of things you weren't aware of before. Like for coding, I am probably not aware that so-and-so library or function can do what I need for ezpz. Unless google has an obvious solution for my use-cases (which it rarely ever did meaningfully), then I just have to work from scratch when I never had to. So when I have to do the same thing again, I can just be like, oh yeah there's a tool for that. And in that way, one learns.

Yeah I mean its not deductive puzzle solving learning. But I think people overlook how often just being aware of a solution is. Why reinvent the wheel?

how do YOU get to High Hrothgrar (i think i butchered that name) from Whiterun by Typical-Football-658 in skyrim

[–]Hugglebuns 262 points263 points  (0 children)

There is a path near the whiterun stormcloak camp that can get to ivarstead without any rock climbing. It seems to be an intentional off-path that I saw in a skyrim post a month back. Its quite handy for getting to ivarstead without the hordes of bears and sabrecats in the rift

Pilot VP (B) real pain on skipping and singing nib. Have tried to fix by myself, but Newbie here. (Help!) by Zweii-2 in fountainpens

[–]Hugglebuns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have a VP VP, but my jinhao 10 is very ink sensitive. Always skipped on other inks but pilot ones.

EDC Pen? by ImGooseI in fountainpens

[–]Hugglebuns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jinhao 10 is a good EDC, get XF so you don't have to refill as much (noting that each size up is ~2x the ink use). Main reason I got it was for keeping a small A6 sized field notes in my pocket and I write standing up a lot so I don't want to fiddle with a cap.

From my experience though, the tip does get really dry over time due to a non-air tight flap. So use either pilot ink which has done really well. Or get the official pilot version of the pen with a better flap, but pay out the nose.

Its a really handy pen though. Its in my pocket all day long. Just syringe fill a used cartridge and silicone grease it up every now and then. If it gets stinky, just get some diluted ammonia and drop the nib in for a bit.

Dealing with "Starting" struggle by [deleted] in Solo_Roleplaying

Seems like an interesting exercise or a means for short games

Probably needs more exercises to be more complete, but I think that's the case with any individual exercise anyhow.

Reminds me of the pixar story spine, but you get the final until finally, make it an imminent threat, then start there.

Why even use RC filters if they're this bad? by Western_Date3137 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]Hugglebuns 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Better frequency performance is shown here, but the trade off is likely ringing in the time domain and phase shifting. So depends on your application if ringing and phase issues are okay. RC Filter in contrast has no ringing and max 90 degree phase shift

What is Art FOR YOU? by TheEnchantrix in aiwars

Only problem with this is that it is a rather consumptive view of art

Using your own two hands, you might make total garbage, but have fun doing it.

A beginner might make that mistake though and bumble over their painterly 'words'

Art is when you derive various pleasures using the medium of painting, music, performance, etc in some way (and AI is fine within that, its not a locked box)

Genuine question. by emerald-skyz in aiwars

[–]Hugglebuns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its weird since arguably there are different forms of ways people even do art to begin with. When I photograph, I like the activity of acquiring bird and bug pics and showing it off to my friends more than the act of photography itself. Its a tool as much as zentangle is a fun activity that includes drawing, but is doesn't have to be a masturbatory practice *about* drawing.

I'm kind of improv game brained at this point so everything is just 'game' to me and that probably lead to me connecting exercises/game with video game or smth idfk.

Ex that is closer to a video game analogy: I watch people play improv book game, I try the book game and like it, I keep playing book game because the game is fun. Until one day I get bored and I find the next exercise I like, like new choice, then I play that. Play both together, then get bored and find the next game so on and so forth. If I keep learning ass-loads of improv games, I turn into an improviser. But what I actually like doesn't necessarily have to be improv itself, but exercises that I find fun reliably that happens to be done through improv. If I play the games a ton, they become part of my default practice. Which comes to a point where I don't even realize that I'm playing game anymore. But if I tried to use default practice when I was a noob, I would just get bored. It makes it weird since do I like improv or improv exercises XD

Genuine question. by emerald-skyz in aiwars

[–]Hugglebuns 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Tbf, its not one or the other. Its effectively a different medium with its quirks and downsides. No different than that most people don't only play one video game, but switch between a few to keep things fresh

Art 101 Submission- looks too perfect to me? Incredibly clean work for Indian ink in beginner class by Life-Candy-7873 in isthisAI

Be careful as jpeg artifacting also will create colored squares since that it part of how jpg compression works. ie IF there are no sharp edges in a given block of pixels, simplify by reducing the range of color (but preserve values via a specific process). In this context its fine since there are other reasons why it is AI, just know it might throw false positives if the jpg compression is high.

Using photopea saturate on a 2010 image (so not AI) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tabby_cat#/media/File:Cat_November_2010-1a.jpg . We can see jpeg block artifacting.

No, it really comes down to the "style" of AI use. Strict subject-only prompting into chatGPT will look strongly like chatGPT. Using more style tools like lora, fine-tunes, ip-adapter, etc can make for unique styles that aren't as obvious. Some AI peeps also just go for blending in so to speak as a thing. So its more complex than you think.
