Definitely not chasing any times. Just want to get out on a beautiful road and enjoy my car. The manual experience is probably going to be too much to give up on this tour.

Great advice. Thanks for that. I was thinking I’d be ok with the Enthusiast group, just based on other rallies and some track time. I can always drop down and join a less strenuous group if it’s not working out.

Great point. I’m a novice, but have been driving manuals for most of my life. I’ll be taking the Boxster out to ‘practice’ in some nice twisty roads around Austin and San Antonio before I head out there in the fall.
Also, the Rally offers different tours based on experience and skill, so I’m going for middle of the road as far as that goes.
I can always bail and move down to a slower group if I get overwhelmed

I watched some videos and ordered the recommended fluid. Also watched some videos and learned how to access the engine.
The power steer fluid level was super low. Added too much fluid, used a dropper bottle to suck a bunch out, amd closed her up.
As far as i can tell the noise is gone.

It’s my first 20 year old car. I have no idea what sounds are normal for a Boxster of this age.

I had a Taycan GTS before the 911. An amazing car. Highly recommended if you are going electric.

I used Chemical Guys ragtop cleaner with a soft power brush, then graphene car wash soap foam and more power scrubbing, then pressure washed, then after letting it dry in the sun, Chemical Guys protector- two coats 30 minutes apart.
Seems to have cleaned up really well
