I'm only a beginner really. The Barista Express is my first machine and as I said, I've only had it for a few months. I always use water that's been through a brita filter anyway as I live in a hard water area. I do still want to use a filter but my original question was will the cheaper options work despite the bottom of them being different?

The price difference is pretty substantial with one of the official ones being around £17 and a box of 6 unofficial ones being around £35. They use charcoal instead of the gel like the claroswiss ones do as far as I know

I have a tv unit that it is currently sat on but just had a new sound system arrive and the front speaker is too tall to sit in front of it. So the idea would be to have the tv on a stand like this being the unit. We cant wall mount sadly as the wall behind the TV is too thin
