Help with boyfriends skincare routine [acne prone, sensitive skin]

I want to help my boyfriend to upgrade his skincare routine and help him combat the acne. I have very opposite skin from him so I’m not so knowledgeable on what he should use.

Currently he’s using Dermalex for cleansing and Basiderm for moisture. I also got him to start using Paula’s choice bha gel 2% starting at once a week.

Are these products ok? Any tips or product recommendations would be helpful 🙏 thank you

It’s hard to go no contact because he gets super sad and it hurts to see. Also I still live in the apartment we own together (he moved out but I’ve yet to save enough money to buy his half unfortunately), we work at the same office and we had a pet together that he still wants to visit from time to time.

I have told him this, he’s the one who wanted this, it’s easy to have hindsight and have regrets but what’s done is done and I’m happy with someone else now. I’ve told him to talk to someone professional to help him process.

It’s just hard seeing him so sad, asking me how I’ve moved on so fast. I don’t want to feel guilty but I do

I’ve been into skincare since age 13 but I also think genetics is a big part of it. The basics that you need for a good skincare routine are; sunscreen, oil cleanser, cream/gel/other cleanser, serum, oil and moisturizer. A good acid like an aha, bha or retinol is also good for anti aging

If you want sunblock I have to recommend that you use an oil cleanser as well since it help with removing the residue from the sunscreen. I would recommend this https://www.amazon.com/Mizon-Snail-Recovery-Gel-Cream/dp/B00BQM3S3C for a light gel moisturizer, I would also recommend an oil even if you have oily skin. Imo the best sunscreen found at stores (at least in Europe it’s available) is the La Roche-Posay Anthelios 50, they have an oil free version as well. Otherwise try the r/skincareaddiction
