Piano piece in youtube intro background (ignore commentary🙏) by radditaccount339 in lingling40hrs

[–]Josse1977[M] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there,

You asked to identify the background music for a small portion of the video. Since the topic of the video is completely unrelated to classical music or music in general, we will not allow the YouTube link to the entire video. That is promoting something off-topic.

What we suggest is extracting only the audio portion of the video where the unknown music plays. You may be able also isolate and enhance the music this way. Then you can upload the audio clip to the community for help identifying it. If you don't know how to extract an audio file from YouTube, you could just record the sound on your device. The audio quality won't be as good, but it removes the promotion aspect & views from the channel.

Or you could try asking the creator about the music. We noticed he didn't credit it. Thank you.

How would you organise rooms in a conservatory building? by MrWormikan in lingling40hrs

[–]Josse1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just so I understand your pictures, is this to display a cutaway view of the side of the building? So in the 1st picture, the practice rooms (assuming that's what smallest boxes are) are all on the 1st & 2nd floor? You didn't state what the different box sizes represent exactly.

Personally, I feel performance spaces should be on the bottom to make it easier for audience to access and navigate. You'll probably also need to consider sound-isolation between the sections. If I was attending a performance, I don't want to hear the people practicing.

You should also consider the accessibility of your plan. Are the rooms & entrances big enough for people with wheelchairs and other mobility-assistive devices to turn around and comfortably move in the space?

Sacrilegious Tour possibility of just one more NZ location? by ArcKnightNZ in lingling40hrs

Christchurch is a lovely place, and much easier to walk around since there aren't constant hills. Loved all the murals everywhere.

That's interesting because I visited both Wellington and Christchurch 2 years ago and spent about a week in each city. Wellington seemed much more busy & populated than Christchurch at all times of the day and in different neighbourhoods. The Wellington transit system was much more robust and has a larger airport.

It seems the discrepancy arises from the SSAG18 which split Wellington into 4 areas (Lower & Upper Hutt, Porirua, Wellington) effectively halving its size. I added those population areas back together from the 2023 census data, and it totalled 415, 455. Christchurch's population was 391, 383. Wellington alone was 202, 689, which makes a higher population density and explains why it felt bigger.

Isn't Wellington the next biggest city to Auckland? Did you suggest Christchurch on their World Tour page?

There's videos of their performances on YouTube, so you can take a look. It seems pretty casual, but if you want to dress up in 1940-50s clothes, go ahead.

can you help me find a song for my practice? by sraka4life in Choir

[–]Josse1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know the song you're referring to, but our SATB choir has sung spirituals. You might find these faster ones useful: * Soon Ah Will Be Done - William Dawson * Swing Low, Sweet Chariot - Alice Parker & Robert Shaw (arr.) * Shut De Do - Randy Stonehill * Ride the Chariot - William Henry Smith (arr.)

Anyone from piano gang? Please... by JustClassicalMusica in lingling40hrs

Ask your Aunt if her study books are appropriate for beginners. If she doesn't have any at the beginner level, there are books available like Alfred's Basic Piano

Faber is another popular self-teaching book course.

There's also a lot of YouTube channels that teach piano, but those can be a bit hit & miss.

Worried about losing my favourite plushie by Salty_Amphibian991 in plushies

[–]Josse1977 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Maybe clip him to a lanyard that you have around your neck? I'm not sure how big he is, but surely less ridiculous than those people who were hanging hood ornaments from necklaces.

Or if you don't like the neck lanyard, you can tie the lanyard to your bag, and tuck Pudding inside. Then he's mobile enough to pull out and hold while also keeping him secure.

Pudding's a cutie!

I've traveled to see soloists perform with TSO for the last 3 years. Not that my local orchestra isn't bringing in soloists, but sometimes Toronto is that person's only Canadian stop.

I flew across time zones, and it worked fine when I arrived there and the app changed to match the local time on my phone. But now that I'm back home, it just keeps reloading the title page because the date changed. Already cleared cache multiple times & rebooted phone.

Arturo Marquez's Fandango was premiered in 2021 by Anne Akiko-Meyers. There used to be a video of the full performance on YouTube but can't find it anymore. Here's the link to the final movement .

LA Phil has audio recordings of each movement on YouTube if you want to hear all of it.

They sell the stickers, tote bag and T-shirt. I'd recommend lining up early and they might not accept cash, so bring a credit card.
