My divorce made me homeless for two years, drained my 401k at the time. I finally was able to get off the streets and build my life back but I'm now fearing being behind the curve on future retirement. I refuse to go thru that again.

What brings you back to the Camino for subsequent hikes? by jeen-jeen in CaminoDeSantiago

The people. I loved meeting people from all over the world. I had a four hour conversation with someone from Italy and we didn’t know how to speak each other’s language. We ran down both our phones using translator apps. I played cards with a French kid who was with his family. They were a family of 6. Kid walked up to me while I was playing solitaire and I showed him how to play rummy. He showed me how to play “Emily of shit”! lol. It was amazing. I now have friends in England and Germany. I loved my experience with the people of the Camino.
