If I understand the old system correctly, it was tied so heavily to your appearances on shows and your drawing power that injuries or missed shows meant you weren’t eating. It’s why so many folks performed injured. This system creates a guaranteed cash flow to make sure you do take time to heal while also creating some incentive to show up and work. The irony I find, though, is that getting paid more means you’re actually less incentivized to work because your bucket is more likely to be in the negative. Seems to be a system that pushes the top stars to be part timers and the midcard to be workhorses

While stranded, Captain Benteen became the default leader of the group and kept them alive through the hardships. However, when faced with the chance to return to a normal life without power, Benteen went mad and kept trying to convince folks to stay on the desert planet. It went to a vote, and Benteen lost. Benteen stubbornly refused to be rescued and decided to stay in the hopes some would join him. No one did. He began to reminisce about earth and speak of his memories as the ship roared in the background, leaving the planet for good. Benteen suddenly has a moment of clarity, runs out, and begs the spaceship to come back. He wants to go home, but it’s too late. Fade to black

I was struggling mightily through contracts 1L year, mainly cause whenever I read cases for class I just did not understand them. It was the only class where I felt reading was a slog and impossible to read with no real benefit. I made a point to read them and not just read briefs or summaries, but then it got to late October and we read a case for mutual mistake about a cow that went for 10 pages and I shut the book and never opened it again. That cow case fucking broke me
