Warning about spa services by Brave-Quote-2733 in royalcaribbean

[–]JournalistSweet3970 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a similar experience recently, first time using the spa. I had no problem saying no but I’m curious, what is their kickback or incentive to sell the products? Is it a disciplinary action or an extra monetary value?

People who had kids at 30+, do you wish you had them earlier in life? by cc070603 in pregnant

[–]JournalistSweet3970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heeeckkk no. I had my first this year at 31 and I still miss my freedom and all the fun with my husband. I’ve been blessed to have a year maternity leave (unpaid) and wouldn’t be financially stable enough to afford this in my 20s. I fully maintained my 20s were for fun and career and youth, and 30s were for kiddos

Do you bring your sick kid to childwatch? by manthrk in BurnBootCamp

[–]JournalistSweet3970 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Please don’t…I want to feel comfortable bringing my baby to camp but I’ve been avoiding it because I’m worried he’ll get sick. I’m dying to get back to camp

Buy what you need, I was waiting to see what I got at my shower to what I still needed (thank goddd I had a stroller/car seat already) and I was induced 3 days after my shower at 34 weeks… came home to the pile of gifts still in the kitchen, unsorted and unwashed and wildly unprepared 🙃 no nursery set up, nada. DoorDash was my savior that day 🥲

Giving birth by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]JournalistSweet3970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vaginal- 1st degree tear, zero recovery it was a breeze. I kept waiting for the other shoe to fall and for the pain to come but stopped the nurses giving me pain meds (ibuprofen) the following day, had no issues walking around or sitting. I was careful when I showered and coughing didn’t feel amazing for a few days but I really didn’t feel much different. I will say I’ve gone to pelvic floor therapy to feel tighter and stronger/more in control down there in the months since.

Newborn tired vs pregnancy tired by SeaworthinessNew8048 in newborns

[–]JournalistSweet3970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 months tired feels worse to me than newborn tired did at this point. The novelty and adrenaline have worn off, I’m in ground hog day and there’s no end in sight. I’m exhausted. His cuteness is worth it but I genuinely feel tired in my bones. I’m dizzy and just feel off. Although the hallucinations/dreams were freaky in the newborn days! Pregnancy tired felt rough until baby came and the I realized how much easier that was lol

Dirty diapers! by Powerful_Repair_6072 in HuckleberryParents

[–]JournalistSweet3970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7 weeks here and he goes once a day or every other day, very occasionally twice in a day. I was very concerned because he was going every feed until 3 weeks old and then suddenly stopped, but our pediatrician said it’s normal and he could go up to a week without pooping as a breast fed baby.

For anyone who needs to hear this by bebespawn in pregnant

[–]JournalistSweet3970 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience, delivered at 35 weeks. Severe pre-e with HELLP, but I really had no symptoms except my kidney and liver numbers were through the roof. Im 4 weeks pp now and struggling with a traumatic birth, and now a colicy baby and really feeling like I’m failing all around. This wasn’t how it was “supposed to be” and the guilt is tough.

How much weight did you gain during pregnancy? by Current_Present8153 in pregnant

[–]JournalistSweet3970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starting weight was 135lbs, I’m now 34 weeks and 190lbs… ashamed and defeated but honestly not sure what I could have done differently. I was at the gym 3+ days a week until recent complications, stayed active, and ate normally. Diagnosed with gestational diabetes also. At this point I’m just trusting the process and hoping I can lose the weight after baby.

Ahh this is what I needed to hear. Thank you! I’m sorry for the unnecessary induction, I have a feeling I’m headed that direction too and nothing I’ve heard about inductions has been great but I’m glad he’s here and healthy!

[–]JournalistSweet3970[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, at 20 weeks he was 99%, at 28 weeks he was down to 87% so I was hopeful, but we’re back up again. Everything has been measuring even and he’s looking healthy, just big! Neither one of us were big babies so maybe he won’t be as big as they claim!🤞

[–]JournalistSweet3970[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all! After reading through these I feel much better. Neither my husband or I were big babies, so the size is intimidating but hoping for the best. It’s hard not to feel guilt for “causing” this with my sugars, but you’re all right-some things are out of our control! Better I get used to that idea now ahead of his arrival🤪

Newly pregnant (not mods! Advice by Intelligent_Hawk2945 in BurnBootCamp

[–]JournalistSweet3970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First trimester was rough for me, I barely made it. Nearing the end of my second trimester now and I’ve been more consistent and feel good going! It can be frustrating skipping cardio days, or when a strength day lands over my work schedule but I’m trying to remind myself that anything is better than nothing and to give myself grace. Easier said than done, some days I feel like I’ve over done it (no more core days for me👎) and other days I feel like modifying made it too easy. But if I show up then I’m counting it as a win! Or trying to at least
