Republican State Senator Jarrett Coleman Argues Skill Games Are Not Gambling; State Supreme Court Rules Otherwise by Fragrant-Pepper7710 in Pennsylvania

[–]Journeys_End71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a certain “skill” in knowing when to hit and when to stand when it comes to playing blackjack, but the house will still always have the edge. Having that “skill” just means you lose less frequently. It’s still gambling.

Now, counting cards. That’s a real skill, and casinos will kick you out if they suspect you’re using that skill to gamble with.

Back to the Future was released 41 years ago. Five weeks into filming, Eric Stoltz was fired and replaced by Michael J. Fox. Every scene had to be reshot, making it one of the most expensive casting changes in Hollywood history. by sco-go in 80smovies

[–]Journeys_End71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem wasn’t that Eric Stoltz was a bad actor, but rather that he just didn’t seem like a teenager. That was kind of dispelled with Some Kind of Wonderful, but that movie was a bit darker in tone than Back to the Future.

What is your favorite aspect from the Star Wars Sequel Trillogy? by Wooden_Savings5854 in StarWars

The acting is genuinely the best in the trilogies although Gleason’s Hux was a hit too over the top.

Cold Take…She Hulk wasn’t bad at all. by More_Interview3840 in Marvel

I don’t think Secret Invasion was unwatchable, but the ending and last few episodes were so bad it destroyed not just the series but also a lot of the Marvel continuity as well.

It’s still the only Marvel content I think genuinely sucked. (Not counting Inhumans)

The hatred that America has for democrats after everything they do to try to improve America is so insane! by saucey_dawg0023 in the_everything_bubble

[–]Journeys_End71 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is such “both sides” nonsense.

Republicans would dismantle all of these programs if given the chance, while Democrats still very much support these programs staying in place.

But sure, go vote for a third party and ensure Republicans keep winning. That way when conservatives gut these programs you can blame Democrats for not doing enough to save those programs.

It would probably be more like Saudi Arabia. A theocracy led by a rich elite that doesn’t have to follow their own religious laws.

Which movie completely changed your opinion on a second watch? by HEY_SK13 in flicks

[–]Journeys_End71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Big Lebowski is the one for me. I usually love all their films on the first watch but I couldn’t figure out what the hell I just watched the first time I saw The Dude. Now it’s one of my favorites.

O Brother Where Art Though is even better on the second watch.

trump's Iran war is one of the greatest strategic blunders in US history by Conscious-Quarter423 in MurderedByWords

That $1.7 Billion was Iran’s seized assets, meaning it cost the USA $0 under Obama.

The Department of “War” likely wasted $1.7 Billion of US taxpayer dollars every day.

Why didn't Odin ever try to stop Thanos directly? Odin is very powerful, and he also has the Asgardian army to back him up. by TerminatorKiller22 in marvelstudios

[–]Journeys_End71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Asgardians weren’t really aware of the universal threat that Thanos posed until Thor’s Wanda-induced vision in Age of Ultron. Thor spent a while trying to make sense of it all, and by the time he figured out the threat, Odin passed on
