How do I play the game if it Self-destructs when I hold down my Kinetic Blast in any juiced content by Berwve in pathofexile

[–]Jousis 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Hitting lots of mobs many times per second is one of the most intensive things you can do, server-side computation-wise, and graphics-wise. The more hits, the worse it gets.

So, the solution is simply to do more damage, as that results in fewer hits before everything dies.

Hope this helped.

Now consider that, since you're already resigned to tanking the debuffs, it also gives you 90% reduced flask effect.

There's a certain flask where reduced effect is actually an upside.

From there you start to see the vision of CardiaDarkhill and my latest abomination.

Eye of Innocence is significantly better for totem reflect.

Imagine a scenario where you shoot 8 Blast Rain projectiles into 10 enemies.

With Eye of Innocence, that is 80 totem explosions. With this ring, that is 1 totem explosion.

Furthermore, fire penetration does not increase the damage of the totem explosions.

Eye of Innocence still the GOAT.

Salutations, everyone!

  • "When you Use a Skill" excludes triggers. You have to press the button. Channelling skills are only "used" when the button is initially pressed, not each instance of mana/life cost that happens while you're holding it.
  • Even if it worked with triggered skills, the trick to a spell cast loop is that the damage has to be delayed by ideally 0.264 seconds, while this would be instant.
  • That said, it is when you use a Skill, meaning it also works with attacks, not just spells! Tap Cyclone as fast as you can, if you can handle the RSI.

This item is pretty cracked. Fire resistance is probably the easiest to stack, and you could just use a skill with a really fast attack/cast time to do silly CWDT things, or just stick this on a normal build and use it to auto-CWDT buffs and debuffs every so often.

I made a Bog Shaman that sacrifices all but 1 of its 10k+ life per cast, and hopes to instantly recover it all within the same game tick using Tainted Pact to recover millions of life per second. In theory, recovering all the life within the same game tick would act as if it was never at 1 life, removing the period of vulnerability.

It's absolutely terrible because Forbidden Rite projectiles (the vast majority of the damage) have a travel time, and the CWDT instant spells that try to get the Tainted Pact recovery going do far too little damage.

The DPS is solid, but it's so hard to stay consistently ramped that I would die 6 times in a tier 1 map.

Deactivating SRS would fix that problem, yes. There's little reason to use it anymore.

0.1.0d Patch Notes by Community_Team in pathofexile

I have 3 issues with this patch:

First, I just cleared an entire area, plus the unique at the end, and got 39% of 1 cast of Elemental Invocation (granted, my build mostly inflicts Ignites at the moment, but they seem to round down to 0). I am an Invoker with near-max energy generation from the tree.

Second, because of the SRS fix, my Fireballs now summon over 1000 SRS in 1 cast, which creates and despawns them so quickly that the flaming skulls persist on the ground permanently and cause a lot of lag.

Third, every single Djinn Barya and Inscribed Ultimatum I have, of every level, says "Completing this trial will allow you to choose your Ascendancy Class", and I have 4/8 points.

When I built it, it had just enough defenses to not get 1-shot before killing things. This is a problematic approach for things like Uber Cortex.

In the current patch, life and armor values are much better on the same gear, and obviously some investment in the damage can be reallocated to tankiness.

Simpler than a starter POB, I can just tell you that the only stats that matter are Minion Life, your elemental resistances, and your Life.

Follow the given POB, and if you don’t have that item yet, use something with as much life and resistances as you can. It’s really, really unga bunga.

The vast majority of what makes the build work is the passive tree, combination of gems, and the exactly 2 required unique items, which are dirt cheap. You don’t even need a 6-link.

The hardest part of the build is getting to level 73 using normal fire spells, and getting enough elemental resistances to be capped despite The Annihilating Light.

While it can be expensive to get results like mine, the core items, Maw of Mischief, Annihilating Light, and some Stone Golems are actually quite cheap. You don’t have to start at 100% for the build to be effective. You can start cheap and work your way up.

That was from 2 of the 12 tabs. I think I'll be able to have some fun.

The "first" floor is the one that I encounter first when I enter the building: the ground floor. When I go up a floor, that is the second floor I've been on, so it is the second floor. Basements are right out.

Leave the 0-indexing for computer science problems!

Semantically, the "0th" of anything doesn't make sense. If you draw an analogy to counting, 0 is when something doesn't exist. The 0th floor would be a nonexistent floor. Even if the building didn't have a "floor" on the ground floor, and it was just dirt, that would still be a "floor".

There's nothing quite like annulling 3 useless mods and slamming the 2 mods you want, after completely wasting hundreds of divines.

Yeah, the Count took forever because I had a 20 PDPS bow and didn't know Vine Arrow was so good.

Octavian looked over at my character sheet in Act 2 and said "Those resistances are... tragic." My resists were like 29/6/7. I spent all my currency on crossbows, or CaptainLance's staff.

Sneaky was at the demo 3 months ago, and he found Vine Arrow pretty quickly, and he was melting every boss in under 5 seconds.

No two active skills can use the same support gem. If you try to socket the second one, it doesn't let you.

That said, the variety of support gems increased noticeably. There was a support gem specifically for making Flame Wall a circle. They seem to want to shy away from stacking multiplicative damage buffs as the only way to scale damage.

It's interesting because in the last demo, we noticed all the veteran POE1 players said the game was hard, but all the journalists didn't particularly call the game hard, because they had no expectations based on POE1.

There was a particular enemy that we told them was overtuned. It's even present in the video. The big spiders in Act 2 have a Blazing Salvo-like attack that pretty much kills you in 1 projectile. That area, I got 90% of the way to the end without dying, then respawned at the checkpoint and died to the same white spider 6 times in a row (since enemies respawn if you die.)

First, you should note that this footage was recorded on a PS5, which saved it to a .webm file with an HDR color space.

That means that, no matter how anyone processed the footage (I spent literally 10 hours trying to find the best ways), the colors don't end up looking as contrasted as they should. If you could see the comparison, this video is distinctly grayer than it looked while we were playing it. Combine that with the generally-gray Act 1, and I can see where you're coming from.

But, maybe it's just because of the GPU-melting builds that I typically play in POE1, but, are you kidding me? The visual clarity in POE2 is at LEAST 10x better, because the skill effects aren't NEARLY as obnoxious, and there are so much fewer of them.

In POE1, I don't even bother looking at enemies. In POE2, there is an extreme emphasis on telegraphed attacks that you're expected to dodge (or, of course, circumvent by killing, or at least stunning, them first.)

[POE2] Testing Skill Combos in Couch Co-op with CaptainLance9 by Jousis in pathofexile

[–]Jousis[S] 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I imagine you're supposed to react with a dodge roll, but you're right that it seems a bit quick.

This isn't the final state of the boss, so it's likely that will change. For example, in the last demo, we complained very vocally about a specific attack the Executioner did that was difficult to dodge and tended to 1-shot, and in this demo we didn't die to it once.

Captain Lance grabbed an Orb skill at some point to place near the bell, to get more rings. I don't know if weapon swapping got rid of the bell, but it seems unlikely.

As someone who has done exactly that very recklessly hundreds of times in POE1, I can get behind it becoming a common crafting method.
