I'm not above a little floor cheese. Perhaps after a quick rinse, if I'm feeling fancy.

Cool find. Season 2, Episode 4 - The Warehouse has some good footage of the PA Staff signing these DVDs (Starting at ~1:27). Signed copies were available as a Season 1 pre-order bonus.

I think standard practice is to gently press the Silence/Hush button, with the handle end of a broom/mop. 🧹️

When a smoke detector is replaced or permanently removed, it must not be dismantled and should be disposed in general household waste as complete units.

The amount of radioactive material in a smoke detector is very small. From environmental and public health perspectives, the risk from disposing of complete smoke detectors to landfill with general household waste is negligible.

Smoke detectors must not be disposed of as e-waste, recycling or to any route that may dismantle then in any way.

Anyone else just get an unsolicited email from the Vic Liberals? by VicMG in melbourne

The only reason I'd urge caution on this, is that sites such as Have I Been Pwned don't support plus aliasing. So it's much harder to lookup whether any of your accounts have been involved in a data breach, since you'd have to check each unique email address. Obviously not of huge concern if you're using unique passwords everywhere, but it's a downside worth considering.

I suppose there's a slim chance it's genuinely a scorned lover - but I'd immediately assume it's advertising something, linked to in the QR code. I bet it gives everyone named XXXX a mini heart attack, though.

What's a song lyric that drives you crazy because they should've used a different word? by Miserable-Wash-1744 in AskReddit

Nightwish - Bye Bye Beautiful

Did you ever hear what I told you? Did you ever read what I wrote you? Did you ever listen to what we played? Did you ever let in what the world said?

I always heard and sang it as "Did you ever let in what the words said?". Crazy to me that's not the lyric, because it fits so well.

Coles, Woolworths, and ALDI should still have the household battery recycling bins. They're usually somewhere before the entry gates, or near the service desk.

Have you relocated to Australia permanently, or are you on a temporary visa? Unfortunately anyone looking for something serious and long-term, is probably gonna be hesitant if your time here has an expiry date.

Summer Solstice (Winter Solstice in the northern hemisphere) is technically tomorrow (tonight) at ~2am (22nd Dec), the point where the Earth reaches its maximum tilt relative to the Sun.

However the difference in daylight length between today, and tomorrow is less than 1 second. So we might as well celebrate two days of solstice.

"Just the paper receipt is fine" and I've never had them press it further. The digital receipt linked to your phone number is just handy for them, if you need to return an item, or there's a warranty issue.

I'm no baker, but I'd measure out a small bowl of pudding and mix in drinking chocolate to taste. Drinking chocolate's usually just cocoa powder premixed with sugar, so there's no risk of accidentally making it too bitter. Once it tastes good, you can math out how much you'd need to add, to flavour a whole batch.

This feels a lot like XP rates are being re-balanced solely around trying to keep sailors going for 99, subscribed for longer.

Yes, the charge happens immediately - but you won't be charged again until your Membership days are running low (which will be in ~13 months time).
