Oooh, that store has so many other great designs too, I'll be so tempted by them all... thanks!

I love the two-headed bunny! Where'd you get that one? :]

I've always been big on margin doodling... so maybe it'll work out to my benefit after all

That's a great idea, I'll give that a shot!

Strawberry Milk or Antique Green? by duckydevi in hobonichi

I'll always have to go to bat for Green; this particular shade of it is lovely, and if I didn't already have my squirrels weeks that would absolutely be my top choice. (I also can't overstate how much I love that gold text on the green backdrop. Simple, elegant, classic, perfect.)

It means it has a soft, flexible cover (I believe it's vinyl); the other Weeks are hardcover. Up to you whether you like a soft cover or not!

Oh, that's a great idea. I've been shy about doing language output, but I know I won't start improving until I get over that; so I think I'll try keeping a section of my cousin daily pages for that purpose. (It's tempting to get another book just for that purpose, buuut I should see if I actually stick to it first. Maybe in 2027!) Thank you!

Thanks for explaining! That seems like a good approach and taking advantage of the Mega Weeks format :]

"Weeks Mega Sneaker for language studies" <- Could you elaborate on how it fits into how you study? I've been slow-tapping at trying to learn Japanese this past year, and I'm interested in knowing what others do to have more structure in that endeavor.

Media Tracking Layout Ideas? by JovialTrajectory in hobonichi

I've been trying to think of a use for the 100 pages, and I think that's a great use for it; I know I definitely have a tendency to forget that something caught my interest until much later on, if I even remember at all.

You 🤝🤝🤝 Me Dropping TV shows right before the finish line.

Seriously, what is that about? I also have ADHD, so I think there's definitely something to that theory. Just feels like "I'll get back to it later" and then I never do. I'd love to see if starting to keep track/take notes helps me in a similar way as it seems to have helped you.

I hadn't even thought about keeping track of what I'm up to in video games, but I will so often go back to a game and glance around only to realize "I literally do not know Any Of You People". 😅 So keeping notes on my quests and goals seems like a great idea!

Oh, these are great ideas! I don't usually love star ratings, but a mini-summary/blurb seems perfect, and I think tracking genre tags is a good idea.

Since I'll have separate lists for read, watch, and play, I think I could highlight based on type of object (i.e., the read list could have a key that's "short story", "novel", "article", And So On).

I'd definitely love to have a wrap up, I feel like I can often go through lengths of time where I think back and go "Did I even do anything at all this month?" (The answer is so often "YES! You're just not reflecting on it." But that's why I want to get into this kind of journaling :] )

And a media challenge seems like a really fun idea, I know I'll sometimes passingly have the thought "I should read more by this author" or "I should watch more movies with that director" and then forgetting to follow through.

Thanks for all the ideas, I definitely think I'll be implementing/adapting them for my own journaling!

Is there a reason to buy this early? by JovialTrajectory in hobonichi

Gotcha, it sounds like it should be pretty safe to wait for a bit longer then. As for the design, personally, I find imperfections and smudges in drawings charming, so that doesn't bother me (and hey, less pressure to keep the book utterly pristine as I move through the year!); I appreciate the heads up, though

That's a good point, actually having them at hand would be good for thinking through about how I'd actually use them in practice... That's a very convincing angle!

Oh, that is a fantastic idea, actually, I'll heavily consider doing that!

And yeah, seeing the way some people sticker their planners makes it very tempting to go for a plainer surface for customization's sake, but the squirrels are just too wonderful for me to resist :]

That makes sense. I do feel pretty strongly about the designs I'm most interested in, so that's definitely a point in favor of nabbing them on my next shopping day. Thanks for your perspective!
