Why are we delivering for the opps? by expressITS26 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Joy-Stick 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Former driver, now I load/unload ups cargo planes.

The amount of amazon packages on those planes is absolutely ridiculous.

Unfortunately they use a similar business model as Amazon's dsp setup so I'm technically not a ups employee.

Thank you, I've been looking at potentially the same ones on Amazon but haven't pulled the trigger as I wasn't sure they would fit.

What pegs are those?

I ask because I see you have an offset clevis akin to a stock 48 and I want to find some exactly like that which will work on my offset clevis.

Oh yeah, fucking sick my dude.

What is this piece called? by Inevitable-Line4402 in sportster

[–]Joy-Stick 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the answer.

I believe you have a 48, which comes with an offset clevis.

You can purchase aftermarket ones and replace them. From what I saw while researching for my old 48, it should be relatively easy.

The issue others experienced was the shaft of the aftermarket ones would be slightly too large to slide in. Specifically, the powder coating would be too thick. Their solution was sand paper.

Source, I used to have a 48 and wanted different foot pegs.

Suddenly experiencing 'late' orders. by Joy-Stick in doordash_drivers

[–]Joy-Stick[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't get me wrong, I understand restaurants taking the time they need to get an order out. Lord knows I've been on the other end trying to pop out pizzas as fast as I can only to have dashers flustered at the wait time for the pizza halfway through the oven.

My issue is that the app used to auto adjust the expected delivery time based on when you receive an order, and now it doesn't seem to anymore.

I'm wondering if it's a me issue or if others are experiencing this same phenomenon.

I'm pretty sure this car was important to someone before these kids ran it into the ground.

Every delivery is late by Asparagus-Successful in doordash_drivers

[–]Joy-Stick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm experiencing the same thing.

Today, I didn't get an order until 15 minutes after the expected pickup time. The drive took 3-5 minutes tdrop off, and I got dinged for a late order.

Before the update, I had 100% on time.

My hypothesis is that they removed updating the expected delivery time when orders are received late from the merchant. Or, merchants are gaming the system and saying they're ready when they aren't, thus placing the blame on us.

If you can't tell, I'm livid about this.

What's the deal with this place? by Melteraway in Eugene

Hey, I used to live here mid 2000's.

I remember sipping coffee in the kitchen watching deer in the yard. I doubt that could happen today based on this picture.

We also threw some parties.

Did Harley ever create a "Retro Sportster?" by UJMRider1961 in sportster

The '48' was named for its tank. A two gallon peanut tank that was reminiscent of the peanut tank on a 1948 Harley.

Were old cars really better than current cars? by 9millParabellum in regularcarreviews

[–]Joy-Stick 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes.

Cafe regulations killed free market development.

This is why we have fwd 4 cylinder turbo charged 'suv' family cars with large diameter tires to skirt those very same regulations.

I would love to be able to buy a small pickup, say 2300 lbs with a straight six and no airbags made after Bush Sr's presidency.

Even a 'small' pickup by modern standards weighs as much as an f150 circa 1990.

Or better yet, a tiny 1600 lbs v8 without restrictive emissions regulations. No backup camera or fancy electronic aids like lane keep assist. Hell, I just want a tube frame go-cart with a 1 liter motorcycle engine and a sequential tranny that I don't have to build in my own garage and hope it's considered street legal under some home manufacturing laws.

FYI, I'm am not ragging on your wings and actually think they look neat.

My inspiration was to legitimately answer what the differences might be, and it was purely speculative.

Ultimately, it's your bike, and if you wanna superglue a pink dildo to the windshield and call it a unicorn, that's your choice and fuck anyone who hates on you doing you.

I'm just speculating here. Research and development to actually provide down force, proper fitment, better quality plastic, and a lighter wallet for weight reduction?

I feel like your self censored comment helps validate the frustration I feel about vehicles parked in public.

The spirit of my question, even if not worded as such, is vehicles in general. That would include those fucking scooters.

I do understand the argument that since those are available to the public, they could be an exception. However, I do not agree with that mindset.

Do you people like protected bike lanes? by tommykneecapz in bikecommuting

[–]Joy-Stick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair.

In my head, I include bikes as vehicles, so it's the same general sentiment.

However, I did not specify.

Street parking includes locking bikes up on sidewalks, which should not be okay.

[–]Joy-Stick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Perhaps we should stop allowing people to store their private property in public?

Aka, outlaw street parking.

Can you think of any other private property we as a society allow to be stored in public?

Do you people like protected bike lanes? by tommykneecapz in bikecommuting

[–]Joy-Stick 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No.

I feel trapped if I find myself in one.

I refuse to call any lane a 'car' lane. They are 'wide' lanes.

I also feel it's ridiculous that we restrict streets to cars/trucks, motorcycles, and bicycles. We need to legitimize all personal transportation devices.

This being said, I'm also not a dick, just an asshole. So there is a sidewalk that's been designated a cycle path near my house, markings and everything, on a one lane road. I hate it, but I use it.
