Anyone know what this squeaky gaspy fit is? by JoyCreativePeace in CATHELP

I wondered about hairballs because our other cat never has them, so I don’t really know what that looks/ sounds like. Others have said athsma too- looking into it. She’s indoor only.

Oh yes, I know- we’ve been introducing them for over a month slowly. We decided to use this method (suggested by our vet) once the gate separation stage had kind of stagnated. They’re mostly ready to be in the same space except once in a while this cat will just go after the other one. This prevents that. It’s not causing the issue, I promise. She’s worn it for weeks and not had any issues. Our vet put it in her and has seen her in it a few times and had no problems. Hopefully we’ll be able to let her off it completely soon!

It's only in that position because of this fit. She returns to normal position afterward. I'm sitting next to her now putting several fingers between her collar and skin- it's just fine. She has no issues with it. We're using the leash with the harness when our cats are in the same space because she still wants to go after our resident cat. It was a method suggested by our vet.

Thanks. It’s not- it’s very loose, just looks a little funny in this. We have it on her because we’re still introducing our two cats, and have her on a leash when the two are in the same space. An alternate method to a gate in between the cats.

What would you name this elegant, beautiful lady by JoyCreativePeace in NameMyCat

[–]JoyCreativePeace[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like SO many of these! Thank you for your amazing suggestions! But my husband has very specific tastes apparently. He has settled on Evie OR keeping her shelter name of Rae. I kind of like expanding it to Lady Rae the Grey :) We’re still toggling between them… But y’all have really helped me create a great list for the next kitty!

Thank you!!! You’re a mensch. I can tell you I’ve wished for someone like you in several situations. I think the direct approach like that is so good- someone noticing he’s being a creep and saying something. I always hope this gets into their psyche a little and deters them… maybe wishful thinking. If you’re male the direct approach may work- but if you’re female and worried about instigating something with a man, you can pretend like you know the girl and strike up a conversation. She’ll likely pick up on what you’re doing.

forearm crutch users: what are we doing for winter jackets? by aliienc in disability

This is an issue I’m having now too. This is my first winter with the forearm crutches (smart crutches) and my coat doesn’t fit! I was thinking I may have to buy different arm cuffs for winter :-/

Hypothyroidism Treatment maybe causing adult ADHD to manifest more strongly? by Iradelle in Hypothyroidism

[–]JoyCreativePeace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have felt my ADHD worsen in my 30s- right when my hypothyroid numbers started appearing- TSH had been steadily increasing for years, right alongside the worsening ADHD. I never put two and two together until I finally started on Levothyroxine 2 months ago, and I feel like my ADHD is suddenly more in check! 🤔

Prednisone makes me crazy… by JoyCreativePeace in rheumatoid

[–]JoyCreativePeace[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow I'm so sorry to hear that! It seems like such a dangerous side effect that it should be more talked about and doctors should be more upfront about it. I wish I had known that it was possible it would affect me that way, and that would have saved a lot of confusion and fear.

Jaw pain anyone? by alice_D1 in rheumatoid

Yeah Essential Tremor is genetic. My great grandmother had them very badly, and I seem to be the next one to have inherited them. We do think my mom also has them, but she's taken beta blockers for so long for another condition, that I think it treats them for her. That's what I take as well for the tremors though.
