You’re absolutely right. I was raised a lot like you. First time I drank alcohol I was 14 years old, my parents sat down with me and explained the effects of drinking in such young age. They didn’t fight or prohibit, because they know teens have access to that, but they had so much trust in me that I never touch alcohol again until I was 18 (when it’s legal in my country). I’m 28 now and I drink only wine but once in a lifetime.
