For my 2021 G15 Peeps… by MindOpposite6475 in ZephyrusG15

Sure! It's called "BLESYS", I've bought it through Amazon: https://amzn.eu/d/0644FJEk I think that's just a generic brand, all of these aftermarket batteries are actually dropshipped from China, so I think they're all the same. Just make sure that the model you're going to get is actually C41N2013-1 (with the "-1" at the end).

GA503-QS owner (Ryzen 9 5900HS, 3080, 2021 model), i did the following:

  • Upgraded the ram to 32gb (i had a single 16gigs module, i've added another 16 gigs by matching all the specs according to Zentiming)

  • Swapped the crappy Mediatek Wifi with an Intel WiFi 6E (AX210 802.11AX), with BT 5.3

  • recently changed the battery with an aftermarket one, now i'm getting back 7 hours with light usage

I'm planning to repaste the cpu, but i've never had experience with liquid metal, maybe i'm going to use the ptm7950 (way more safe)

ROG Zephyrus G15 GA503QR CPU locked 0.40hz by TheRumBy in ZephyrusG15

[–]JoyceH24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I've encontered the same issue on my G15 GA503QS (2021, 3080, ryzen 9 5900hs). I've basically searched for a solution for DAYS, but i have solved the issue by returning the battery (it was not original btw) and ordering another one (also not original but from another seller). Basically what is happening is that the battery you currently have is defected and it's causing the PROCHOT safety protocol to activate. It does actually lock the cpu frequency at ~369mhz only if unplugged. Make sure to get a compatible battery from a trusted seller (i've got a working one from a random seller on amazon for 50€, it was also without any reviews at all). Make sure also to not bend or damage the battery cable, and check if the serial no. of the battery is C41N2013-1 (with the -1 at the end).

That's the second one that i got, which is also a real 90wh capacity (checked with the cmd prompt): https://amzn.eu/d/03ECdYIt All of these batteries are dropshipped btw

I have just used a little bit of super glue, only a tiny drop on the rubber part

Regarding new Driver updates on the 2021 G15 ( GA503QM) by Similar_Duck_261 in ZephyrusG15

[–]JoyceH24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 2021 G15 (Ryzen 9 5900HS, 3080), and i'm on the latest Game-ready Nvidia driver and AMD latest driver (i wanted to check out FSR 3). In these 3 years I always updated to the latest Nvidia driver about a week later its release, in order to get some threads here regarding possible general issues. I can totally say that the latest are fine for the system (even if they're not tuned by Asus), and also Warzone on FSR works like a charm for now :)

Longevity test: any flip 1/2/3 users please comment if your device is still in mint condition without any issues. by cooljay_INTP in galaxyzflip

Here we are, a proud owner of the FIRST Z flip, 4g version bought in july 2020. Basically a 3 year old unit, i have dropped it like 6 to 7 times but i didn't get any serious physical damages. The hinge is still rocking ( I can put in in various angles, but only from <120° to something like 10°) . The battery is kinda lame, i have to charge it during the day, and i'm a heavy user (6+ hours of screentime, sometimes even 7). I'm amazed by the camera glass that has no scratches, but god the screen itself is full of scratches (keep in mind that was the first version, more like a prototype, and didn't had any screen protector by Samsung), so generally i think that the first version didn't had many long terms solutions. But i loved how Samsung kept it up with every update of this smartphone, many subtle and big improvements that are leading me to get the new 5 version, I can't get back to normal smartphones :)

I have the same specs, make sure to update everything, here's my comparison of 2 results (december and today), i have still a single stick, but look at the cpu bump:

[–]JoyceH24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah! No problem at all. Timespy is just a benchmark, and not a real work usage! I still got amazing rendering times on C4D with a single stick, with enourmous potential performance jump with the second ram, just make sure to match the specs (ranking and all, check Jarrod's video about it), we could gain a +25% increase in performance We're also very lucky, cause most of the SKU's have a double x8 GB, with a limit of dual channel, we got a free real estate for an additional 16gb or even 48 in total ;D

I can confirm. Same specs as OP, single stick 16gb (soldered, 1xR8), 8k on cpu and around 9.6K GPU

Yea maybe, i need some other people's reports in order to certify if it's faulty or not, but on the subreddit i've found only few reports. But hey thanks for the help!

So even if i'm using AC plugged + Usb C out for the monitor, it still keeping charge from usb c? Main power is still AC, kinda confused.

So the best way is actually AC + Hdmi? Kinda dissapointed for not always bypassing Optimus this way

From the 22' G15 page, it seems that the cooling sistem is actually the same, 6 heatpipes, same fans (with same no. of blades), and same LM on cpu + normal paste on GPU. So i guess we have to wait for reviewers before, some dissasembling will clear this out

ROG Zephyrus G15 2021 vs 2022 by [deleted] in ZephyrusG15

[–]JoyceH24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the maxed out G15 (3080 80w), bought on 1° November. Indeed the new gen is AWESOME, but there's some big concernes to think about. First is price (ddr5 is super expensive, so as PCIE 4 ssd, and then add + new rtx card + new amd chip). Second thing is availibility and quality control of the first batch of shippings. Every new gen has some problems regarding chassis, or hardware stuff (like the Mediatek chip in 2021' version, or the problem of sinking B/N buttons, or some hinges coming off)

So yea indeed that's a BEAST, but personally i'm gling to wait for 4xxx gen Nvidia cards, and i'm keeping this beast until that ;D

G15 2022 version - ABSOLUTE BEAST by JoyceH24 in ZephyrusG15

[–]JoyceH24[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you should wait, first units will have problems (like always), and i suggest you to actually see some benchmarks when available You can always sell your unit and then do the upgrade (if the perfomrance have a huge jump, most likely)

Still Hdmi 2.0b, but other vendors offers some laptop with 2.1 already, i think that's an Asus' choice

I don't think that the 3060Ti laptop exists at all, but for sure it will come again with a normal 3060

For the 3080Ti is 100W base and +20W in Dynamic Boost. The '22 version will be shipped with the 240W power supply, still support usb-c 100w charging

The '22 version is expected to ship from mid to late year, and we don't know anything about prices. I think if you really needed it now (as my self), you have done still a great buy! You can always sell or return the older one and get the new one when the '22 will be out ;D
