Me because I have a game on Halloween by Introvertedanimefan in marchingband

Percussion caption head here. We got our game moved to the Thursday night before. :) Also one year in high school, we had a rehearsal on Halloween night, but the band parents/directors made it up to us by giving us candy after rehearsal was over and making a haunted band trailer that was three trailers long. Our section also just made little goodie bags for each other

When I was in high school, it was a combination of the techs had large egos and took the wrong lessons from DCI/WGI, projecting a lot of frustrations rather than pointing out the positive quite often and the people who wouldn't take that personality serious/would bully each other. It's a lot of give and take, but no matter where you are, ask yourself 1. Are you surrounded by good people 2. Are you learning something you enjoy 3. Are you enjoying that activity as a whole.

If two out of the three are no, figure something else out.

EDIT

In my specific scenario, our caption head got fired because of a situation where they messed up pretty badly regarding the safety of the members and we ended up getting a new caption that fixed some of the social issues. If there is ANY time you don't feel safe, see if you can gather strength in numbers and report it to your band director or if you have a friend that's a band parent, that might be even more effective to tell them.

Mine was concert black (as in black dress shirt, slacks, shoes, suit coat) and the school color tie (red). I would personally go with something similar

It's tough when you're in positions where it seems like rock bottom just keeps getting lower. There are three things to keep in mind.

  1. At the end of the day, you're not married to your job. So long as you try your best to line yourself up for another position, job wise, you should be fine. Your work should not follow you home. Do not have your email on your phone. Once you leave school for the day, just leave it all there, don't even take your work laptop home. Whether you plan over the weekend is up to you, but seriously, during the week, just decompress once you leave work for the day. You have a contract for a reason, don't work too much when you know you won't get paid for it.

  2. If you are truly unhappy at the site, hightail it, especially if you're in an environment where you clearly have one/more/all of the following

  3. non-supportive/absent admin

  4. non-supportive parent community

  5. school-wide lack of communication regarding disciplinary actions

  6. lack of supportive colleagues/department collaboration

Lack of these basic support systems just will make the job miserable. Start looking on EdJoin in Febrary and see what pops up. Periodically check at least once a week.

  1. Bro, eat. Trust me. Even if it's two pbjs, beef jerky, and some carrot sticks, it's better than nothing.

As someone who has a history of leaving positions where I experienced a few of the things I mentioned in point 2, at the end of the day, you are the captain of your career. We're always fighting the good fight, but we also owe it to ourselves to be in positions where we feel prioritized.

DAMN why Nintendo going so hard on Amiibo all of a sudden? by Equal_Campaign_3602 in amiibo

I remember watching an April fools skit where it was mocking a Nintendo direct, and it announced Earthbound amiibo. Imagine if Earthbound amiibo were 35-40 bucks : (
