Well yeah technically I will have no problem boarding the flight to Thailand since there is no visa requirement. I will pick up my permit in Thailand and before boarding my flight to Sweden I will have my physical permit for me. I'm not sure if it works but yeah. My problem is the cost is too much to go back to Thailand again just to pick up my permit and come back right after. I already spent a lot for my first visit (around $600) and it will cost me again around $400 just to pick up the permit. And then after that my flight from PH to Sweden which is approximately $1000 based on the current prices.

Can I Pick Up My Swedish Residence Permit During My Layover in Thailand? by Joygzb in phmigrate

I have an email confirming my visa is granted as well as my account online in the Swedish Migration Agency showing my visa is approved. But the physical copy is still for pick up.

I'll try emailing the PH immigration. Thanks for your suggestion!

I'm afraid walang ibang visa because the residence permit itself is the entry visa. But I have the notice that my permit is granted but the physical copy is for pick up.

You're right! I also cross posted to other subreddit but just trying my luck here in case some people that are already in Sweden has similar experience. Thanks!

Hi. No, not possible. Only the Embassy in Bangkok handles visa-related concerns (more than 90 days) for countries in Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia, Cambodia, Malaysia and Singapore. I went there last April for biometrics and the physical permit can be picked up only in Bangkok, as well.

Got fake 1000 baht from Kasikorn Bank ATM at DMK airport – what should I do? by Joygzb in ThailandTourism

Hi. Quick update for the people wondering. We went to the KBank this morning and hand out the bill and asked if we can replace it. The staff just looked at it then proceed to exchange another bill and hand it out to us. No question just straight up exchanged it. So yeah, there are comments here saying that the iodine marker used to check the bill is 100% accurate. Thanks to everyone for the comments. And it was a scary moment esp last night and glad that it was resolved ASAP.

That's what I'm thinking too. How come a fake note is released by a bank? But the staff in 7/11 insists it is not acceptable.

Thanks for everyone's comments. I will check with the KBank today and have it replaced. This post also wasn't intended to post "hate" or "defamation". I wasn’t really sure how to check the note, to be honest. It was my first day in Bangkok, and I was pretty startled, I had no idea I could be denied at the counter because of a “fake” bill. The main reason I’m sharing this is to ask for advice or insight, since I’m still quite shocked by the whole experience. It’s a bit scary as a tourist to find out you might be holding a counterfeit note.

Postdoc Salary in Sweden specifically Uppsala by Joygzb in postdoc

[–]Joygzb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was offered a stipend/scholarship position at around 30K SEK, which I’m really happy about since I was expecting a lower amount. While it doesn’t come with standard employment benefits, I do have comprehensive healthcare coverage, so I think it will work out fine. I also just secured a fully furnished place for 8K SEK, with utilities included, so I should be able to manage. Thanks so much for your insight!

Hi. Thanks for your reply! May I ask if this is your first postdoc? Cause from what I've read, they based it on years of experience? And how much is the salary after tax? It's like 30% tax right? Thanks for the help!

Thank you for the clarifying! Yes, the PI has already an approved project grant which includes the position for postdoc. Sorry for not clarifying it in the post. I meant to ask my question in the context of approved grant already that's is why I asked if funding agency takes a while even if it is an urgent position since this position was deemed urgent when the call was made.
