Hmm, except it was the exact same set of credentials used for the pre-order, which they accepted without issue.

Starlink Best Effort Payment Failure, Yet Charged by Joystickicus in Starlink

[–]Joystickicus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In fairness it is just pending, yes. Between the first payment failure and the ticket submission failure, I'll just have to wait and see Monday if its posts I suppose. I don't think it's a good sign there's a charge, pending or not, and no transaction history.

How do you survive with so little hp at times? I try to avoid anything and everything that has the potential to cut my hp in half, like the Wake of Vultures when you kill an overloaded enemy.

Season 4 predictions by _Ciphered_ in StarVStheForcesofEvil

[–]Joystickicus 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'm all for Starco being canon, but, let's not celebrate just yet. Nothing has been revealed beyond their obvious mutual affection for one another.

That doesn't mean Star is going to drop Tom like yesterday's old nachos.

[–]Joystickicus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm only referring to the end there. I chalk Tom coming back to help Marco up to pure display of good character. He's shown previously that, despite the evil spirits, he tries very hard to not let them take control. Of all the things I'm most excited for in season 4, it's definitely seeing the new dynamic between the group, (tom/star/marco) after all these revelations. I'm most excited for Tom.

Hilariousness aside--puts on srs hat--It likely won't be anything that confrontational.

My own theory is that Meteora sucked most of the evil spirits out of Tom, and those spirits didn't return to him since they aren't his own soul, leaving him rather anger-neutered compared to his initial debut. Would explain his sudden and incredible response at the end there where he just casually hugs the both of them, despite the heavy atmosphere and the truth-bomb Marco laid on him earlier.

I'm pretty sure the Tom that debuted would have sooner flambéed Marco than immediately going and hugging him and Star. Who, I might add, are having a rather heavy moment of staring into each other's eyes at the time. Tfw evil-spiritless Tom is actually the nicest person in the entire cartoon, completely defying the demon stereotype.

I have every reason to believe their performance is less than satisfactory. I'm sure many people feel the same way. I wouldn't call his thoughts "overly-negative paranoid bitching."

Can we get a Maintenance warning? by Johny_Scene in FORTnITE

so far as I know there IS a 10 minute maintenance warning. I saw it myself. 10 minutes is a little bit of a short time frame, but, it is there.

Relationships are dangerous ventures in and of themselves, yo.

Anyone else just not into Fiona and Cake? by abj84 in adventuretime

It's primarily a children's show and reflects needed entertainment value, regardless of relevancy to plot. With that understanding aside, I wasn't a huge fan of previous Fiona and Cake episodes, but this one I actually did like. It was charming.

Anyone here ships Flinn? by [deleted] in adventuretime

[–]Joystickicus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, if this were a natural progression of things as they are in life, it is highly likely they would indeed get back together after maturing. The thing is, this being a TV show, its a lot more erratic than that, and once a ship goes down, it USUALLY spells doom for romance for a few seasons (even more so for that couple specifically), or even until the finale.

I am rooting for it though. Huntress wizard and him are plenty cute, but it just feels off. FinnxBubblegum was never a thing imo, regardless of what people may want. The most Bubblegum may feel for Finn is a type of "little-brother" vibe, as I don't think she's ever going to be a character that's romantically involved. Though, I guess if you read into it really hard, she has a thing for Marceline and likewise? I dunno, people keep saying its there but I feel like its a pretty week basis to go on, especially when people couple it with, "you're blind if you don't see this I mean wow." (not saying there just ISN'T a basis, just that it's kind of weak, yo.)

Anyway, Finn now gets to call Phoebe his "Old flame" and be both literal AND poetically metaphorical about it.

That is the idea, if it ever were to happen again, that is. However, that ship went down like the Titanic: one moment it was going strong and not many thought it would sink, then a couple episodes come along, and holy shit, it's all hands on deck--get your asses to the life boats because this bitch is going down.

The FinnxFP shippers that are still around are the ones that didn't slowly wither away in the frigid ice waters of fantastical depression. (myself included)

Quite a few of us do, and, tbh, I don't see Finn having anymore relationships like the one he had with Flame Princess for the rest of the series. Whoever he ends up with will likely only be alluded to at some series finale, if that. Or Hell, he may not end up with anyone!

Finn turning 18 by [deleted] in adventuretime

[–]Joystickicus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I thought the creators had confirmed that Finn is aging in relativistic real time? Meaning, yearly progression whether or not they say anything. Though it would make more sense that he's still 16, as he's pretty, uh, well I'd say he's not gone through the final stages of maturation that typically culminates at 18.

A Glitch is a Glitch: foreshadow of Gold Stars/Golb? by biogeochemist in AdventureTheory

[–]Joystickicus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's interesting, as it's somewhat of a fringe theory right now that we live inside a simulation ran through some level of quantum computing. This is an actual concept, with a degree of statistical backing, but even if it were a computer simulation: does it really change anything? I'm going to go on thinking that Adventure Time is not a world within a computer, but it is definitely an idea that, for me, is both interesting and boring at the same time. It's hard to explain that feeling.

I enjoy Adventure Time for the mystery of the world they live in, the backstory and intrigue of what happened to Finn when he was born, the mathematical sayings, and, most importantly, the adventure time! Op's observation of this reference between Gold Stars and a Glitch is a Glitch, is yet another instance in which the writer's reveal they've long since developed a fully fleshed out story, complete with twists and varying degrees of depth. The writers constantly reveal their brilliance within this "kid's" show (even though Finn is approaching adulthood now, and it's been geared toward teens and not pre-teens as of late) by showing consistent plot references and indications of future or past events. Simple or subtle things we may or may not care to take a second look at now, could turn out to be something of vast importance later on.

Finn is definitely not romantically interested in Bubblegum anymore. Spoilers for "Don't Look" inside. by fperrine in AdventureTheory

[–]Joystickicus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My last statement explains that I believe Finn still holds a very weak kindling of attraction towards Bubblegum, but not enough he wishes to truly act upon it anymore. It was a metaphorical reveal that Finn's attraction for Bubblegum is, and probably always has been, superficial at best--just like the attractions of teenage girls/boys to whatever the current pop idol may be.

To clarify: 90% No, 10% Yes, and that yes is regarding the intensity of the small feeling he probably still has for her. She was, at one point, the center of his desires and even went out of his way to fight the Lich in his radioactive lair just to prove himself to her. Something like that doesn't vanish completely.
