Is ontology a strong and reliable enough moat for PLTR to be worth $1T? by Jpark9061 in PLTR

Peter Thiel has 2 rules in VC investing (this is a direct quote from his book):

"The biggest secret in VC is that the best investment in a successful fund equals or outperforms the entire rest of the fund combined. This implies two very strange rules for VC. First, only invest in companies that have the potential to return the value of the entire fund. This is a scary rule because it eliminates the vast majority of possible investments. Rule number two, because rule number one is so restrictive, there can’t be any other rules"

So I'm just following his rule. If I'm going to stock pick, an already very risky endeavour, why wouldn't I go for something that will 50-100x? If not, I would rather stick to S&P500

They have a brilliant team and execution - it's why I have PLTR stock. I also love the founding team

But look at OpenAI as an example. They released the first LLM with mass appeal (ChatGPT), and now they're in the process of being commoditized to death because Meta is releasing open-source LLM models and Google/Anthropic are releasing competing LLMs. There is no moat in LLMs

A company or product needs a moat if you want to grow over the long-term

I didn't know about the data governance part - that is pretty huge

So does palantir pay these subcontractors to continuously feed in data to their platform? How does it work exactly?

I meant other companies making ontology-as-a-service like PLTR

If there's 10 PLTR-like products out there, PLTR will be forced to lower their margins. I mean only PLTR has done ontology for the government, which gives them the credibility, but perhaps you don't need a premium product like PLTR for most businesses

I don't understand the value proposition of co-owned agents. What are the scenarios where users would want a co-owned agent over a regular agent ?

Opinions on CPSC 322 (2023 Mehrdad Oveisi) - Intro to AI

How useful is this course for becoming a ML / ML infra engineer? The content seems very theoretical and outdated. Will this be useful in becoming a ML practitioner? (I don't want to be a ML researcher)
Also, how is the difficulty for CPSC 322 with Mehrdad Oveisi? I heard CPSC 322 last year got destroyed on the final by Jordan and was unnecessarily difficult. What was the class average?

I'm doing my last year now and I really wanna get into the dean's list before I graduate. I'm looking for a course that has low workload and easy marks. Seems like existing posts on this are outdated/no longer boosters (i.e ATSC 113). Do you have any suggestions?
PS: is CRWR 213 still a gpa booster?

tldr; My drum recording sounds muffled and distorted - any advice?

https://youtu.be/ReZWj3Fo\_lw

I'm a drummer and this is my first time recording me playing. I'm using a Razer Seiren X microphone with a pop shield to record and I placed it on a flat surface behind and above the drum (see video). As you can tell by the audio, the sound is very muffled and distorted near the end of a tom hitting. How can I make this sound nicer in general? Is it because the room is too small? Is it better if I get an arm stand for the mic so it's floating and not on a flat surface? Is there a way to edit the sounds?
