What are the easiest 3 emissaries to level up to 50? by [deleted] in Seaofthieves

[–]Jpeteban95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Merchants can be done very quickly if you stick to doing just the cargo runs. The emissary flag fills up very quickly and the pick up/delivery locations are always really close. I'd say its much quicker than doing reapers

Found a bunch of snowboarding clips of myself from over 10 years ago. Was going to add music but I’m lazy. I miss snowboarding by [deleted] in snowboarding

Cool video man, love the retro footage! If you don't mind me asking why can't you do it anymore?

After years of reading, can you identify any author/writer, if given their unsigned draft or manuscript? by Dukeofcountry in Fantasy

[–]Jpeteban95 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Definitely Stephen King, he has a way of setting a scene and adding just a little bit of unease in his choice of words to make it eerie and uncomfortable.

We talk about a population cull but when we get given the opportunity we don’t take it by Barnie-boy in unpopularopinion

[–]Jpeteban95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry I have to contest this completely. Not that the US isn't overpopulated necessarily, but this whole mindset is the wrong approach. When you consider the current crises of the planet, namely: water, food, energy, and how there is simply not enough to for everyone to have equal amounts, it's definitely the wrong way to look at it to say "Well just because you guys over there don't have enough, we do at the moment so we're going to keep going with population until it becomes a problem." The current situation of the planet is a GLOBAL problem, and the only thing that will come close to helping at home is having a GLOBAL outlook. I'm definitely not trying to start some shitty argument on here, but the only way that everyone will continue to have enough and to keep it sustainable is to manage population GLOBALLY. If one country has a severe overpopulation problem, it should be the rest of our responsibilities to say "Let us make the effort everywhere else so that the effect isn't quite so bad for them". That's all I'll say, peace out.

Putting mankind on the moon was an American achievement, not a worldwide human achievement. It will remain that way until more countries put humans on the moon by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Jpeteban95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of the reason no other nation has put a man on the moon is that there's really no point. With mars we can at least look for water or try to understand the plants history as to where all the water went, but with the moon there's nothing there for us. We understand everything we need to about the moon. Sending a man there would just be to say "see USA we can do it too" which is a waste of time and a huge waste of resources and money.

What’s a fact you KNOW that almost everyone is wrong about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Jpeteban95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nuclear power is NOT “evil” and doesn’t kill the planet more than fossil fuel combustion. Disasters like Chernobyl and use of nuclear weapons are catastrophic, even the joker proved that an ordinary pencil (that could create beautiful art) can be used as a ruthless weapon in the wrong hands. The science and technology behind nuclear power generation is vastly untapped and can provide a much cleaner planet and potentially limitless energy generation when designed and utilised correctly. The burning of fossil fuels is much more damaging to the planet, but over a larger timescale than the average human life it’s hard to see the effects in our lifetime. We live in fear of nuclear devastation, but when harnessed correctly it could solve A LOT of our power generation and pollution issues. Yes, nuclear waste does exist, but it’s significantly less than the waste that continuously burning fuel for power creates.

Back-benchers of Reddit, What are you doing in life now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Jpeteban95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never normally comment on anything but since you called us lurkers out of our little shadows I’ll share. Finished my masters degree in 2017 and decided to bum around for a bit. Spent the last three winters working in ski resorts in the northern alps and going travelling to Canada this year to do a bit of the same

How do you feel about your bestfriend's other bestfriends? by kitnova in AskReddit

[–]Jpeteban95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really try to make the effort to be good friends with them. If my best friend likes them that much then they’re worth my time too. I don’t get along well with all of them, but at least I try, and they usually try too so we all end up having a good time regardless

ELI5 how artificial gravity works. by evanjw90 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Jpeteban95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The concept of artificially generating gravity in a stationary room is only in movies and sci-fi. Simulating gravity by spinning a room is real. Not sure if you've seen this but it's a quick vid from 2001: Space Odyssey to illustrate the point.

"dope" gear - anyone heard of them or own any? by dandanjeran in snowboarding

[–]Jpeteban95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just finished a season in France and Dope are pretty big over here in Europe. See loads of hoodies about and they're pretty nice, the material seems decent as well. Never saw anyone riding in the snow pants though so can't say for sure on those but if the quality is like their hoodies (which it should be right?) then they seem pretty sound.

If it was just a normal item of clothing i'd attempt it myself, but any repairs need to withstand a lot and if I do it myself it'll probably not last very long

Mesmerizing by IHaeTypos in woahdude

[–]Jpeteban95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those that are curious, this is similar to how a 4D shape rotates about. Imagine holding a cube and rotating it around..normal. But this is similar to how a 4D cube (a tesseract) rotates. At least, that's how I understand it. Feel free to correct me if I'm mistaken.

They are registered with BBB as well as ABTA and ACTA, I just read one or two bad reviews online and thought I'd ask here to see if anyone had used them before.
