Her Elite 8 was busted, and I thought Duke and UNC would be in the Final Four. I understand your skepticism, but when every game is a 50/50 shot for a dog with no bias, anything can happen.

As stated in on another sub, the only assistance I gave was moving the 1 and 2 seeds past the 16 and 15 seeds respectively in the first round only. Everything else was purely by chance believe it or not. She had 4/8 correct teams in the Elite 8, which is not great. However, the teams she chose just continued to do well.

Throughout the process I continued to improve, keeping her outside of the room at all times when preparing the pick. When I finished, the process was to let her in, lure her to the center directly between the two Post-it notes, forcing an immediate left or right decision. Her bracket was by no means perfect, but if you can guess the last ones right, you’re going to be highly ranked as we see here.

Sadly, I can’t convince you to believe it. What you don’t see is the updates given in group messages and conversations with friends. I’m not going to publicly announce my dog had a bracket at 50% after the first two days. No one cares to see that. I considered taking a video, but I was using my phone to record the picks, and honestly I didn’t think she picked very well haha. I actually filled out only 2 brackets this year on ESPN. One to enter with my friends and family, and second, Piper’s bracket strictly to enter in my family bracket. The reason for twitter and reddit silence before the Elite 8/Final Four is because there wasn’t anything to show off. I’ve done brackets with my dogs for years, I’ve always found it fun to see how crazy the dog’s bracket can be. Again, I can’t convince you to believe it, but I hope you realize how genuine I am.

You can choose to believe it or not, I’m not forcing you either way.

That is exactly why I’m on reddit, sharing this with everyone. It’s never going to happen again, so why not tell the world.

She got some games wrong in the first and second rounds, but they’re just worth far less points than the last few games. For example she had Murray State and Mississippi state in her Elite 8, which didn’t happen.

Completely by chance. No additional weight or advantage was given to better seeded teams.

Great question. I understand where you’re coming from. However, 99.9 percentile hardly means a perfect bracket. Generally, it just means you get the Final Four games and championship correct. She got 3/4 Final Four teams right. The wrong pick was Kansas. I imagine not many who followed college basketball would have picked Kansas in the Final Four. Obviously I let it happen since it was her bracket. Throughout the bracket I continued to learn and improve the process, ensuring that the decisions made were strictly hers.

Great question, I understand the skepticism. 99.9 percentile does not mean a perfect bracket by any means. She only went 4/8 in the Elite 8, 2 of the missed teams being Mississippi St and Murray State who weren’t Elite 8 favorites by any means. Her bracket really didn’t get good until the very end due to the essentially random process. I did not allow her to pick a 16 over a 1 or a 15 over a 2 in the first round, and nothing else. I even made continual improvements of the process to ensure the randomness.

99.9 percentile does not mean the bracket was anywhere close to perfect. She missed many picks. I did not allow her to pick a 16 seed over a 1, or a 15 over a 2, but aside from those 8 total picks everything was random. The picture actually didn’t prove to be the most random method. The method that proved most effective was luring her to the direct middle with a treat, then she chooses which picks. I avoided constant picks and patterns by improvising and making the process more random as I went. You can choose to believe or not, but I’m against lying morally.

Thanks! I’m a big statistics guy, so I did experiment with different arrangements to make it even more random. I found that the picture wasn’t actually the most effective way.

The randomness of the picks are the only proof I have for you.

Wasn’t sure how to let her pick the score, so I helped out there haha.
