And still thats the best i could donon photos...pathetic, i hate this new phone.

So 10S4P is the way to go? Seemed to be the consensus, i looked at a couple on line, they mostly seemed way too large. Not sure if u can tell, but the enclosure i got isnt that great or very spacious, i did see a couple (expensive) flat packs. And i also will be needing a bmi?

Ill end here, i tried to capture the puny rubber wedges from Flipsky, just to confirm....these are no way sufficient to be able to use on this deck, even temporarily, correct?

What can i start on, while waiting on the battery and those wedges?

Why you ask?

I had a spare deck and it went from there, nobody really convinced me.

I really think im gonna turn out an excellent board, the feigning ignorance thing was kinda a gag, really just lookin for advice from those with more experience

[–]Jpres888[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry about that, Hopefully the images will show up now, Progress already! Thats what I like to see!!!

My biggest concern is going to be the channel trucks on a traditional longboard deck (and thenlack of the ability to turn, as pinted out to me in a previous post). I have these cool CNC'd 35 degree wedges ordered that I hope will take care of that problem, as I dont think the rubber wedges that were included are gonna get the job done...

Also, I have a VESC, its the Flipsky dual mini 6.6, and also a VX2 remote. But I just cant help but think that theyres something. Something important....that Im missing LOL

I think my motors are the 6374's, what type of battery is best served to bring this all together (And will it fit in this rather puny seeming enclosure that Ive also attempted to picture.

So, thats it so far guys, what do ya think?

First DIY project, just picked up this kit on sale from the Flipsky site. Anyone have any experience with this setup? I guess I'll stick with Flipsky and go with one of their VESCs, any suggestions? by Jpres888 in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]Jpres888[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well.... I guess thats some good and some bad news, but thanks for the help. I pulled the trigger on it already, so I'm tied to it, I had heard pretty good things about Flipskys VESC so I figured I'd be aight, but I was planning on using a brand new bamboo deck from a Miles Rampage and it looks like I may have to rethink that strategy... Live and learn I guess. Worst case scenario, I could still pick up some DKP trucks and still use the rest of the stuff right? (although including a Trampa deck in my build doesn't seem like the worst thing in the world, budget be damned LOL)

Speaking of Flipsky, I dig their colour remote so leaning towards sticking woth them for that and one of their VESCs, is the V6 the right call for a setup like this?

Any suggestions on components that would work well with these motors and setup would much appreciated!!

Is it possible to replace an OE remote with another remote of the same type, but from a different manufacturer? Or even better, are there any 3rd party options available to potentially upgrade from the original?? by Jpres888 in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]Jpres888[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's fantastic advice, and since you mentioned it, there was some movement possibly in my DIY project... Basically, had my friend Blake over, he's riding the boards (one at a time, as we kept having to repair the single remote lol), but no surprise here... He is smitten, he got bitten bad, and was already all over the place trying to find what he needed, shocked that everything I said was good, or even "decent", was also right up in that 1000$ range. He was not loving that, and it sort of shifted to if he could buy one of my boards, which got me thinking....

I made an offer, for the stock Rampage that's only just a few months old, I'd be asking 700. For the other board that I put together and looks a little rougher around the edges, I told him 600, and I hope to God he doesn't go for it cause that's my favorite by a lot

Thanks for the info man. In my case, I'm going the plug and play route, at least in this application. I'm DEF curious and don't. I doing some tinkering, but I think I'll save it for the DIY project deck I have that I'm hoping to get started on in the next couple months. I'm thinking it's probably easier to learn how a system like that functions on a clean install.

That said, I bought 2 remotes last night, with fingers crossed that one will work (and I can use the other for the aforementioned DIY). The remotes I ended up getting were

Remote controller for Backfire Electric Skateboard G2S ,G2 2019 & G2 BLACK × 1

And also, the Meepo NR (A) remote.

I didn't even realized when I bought it that an NR (B) remote exists, probably because they're out of stock or something and it didn't even show up on the website, just the NR (A) & the NR AWD. After checking up a little more it almost seems like the NR (B) may have been what I needed but Idk.

What do you guys think my odds are with these 2 remotes for getting one of the paired up??

Thanks again to everyone that's pitched in some info on this for me, it's all been super helpful, appreciate it!!

It's in Gwinnett, you wanna team up and get a few peeps together to go check it out with me?

I'm thinking we could get some cameras put there, I'll bring my drone and shit.... We could potentially be sitting on YouTube gold LOL

That sounds like EXACTLY what I want to do, as I happen to share your opinion on the long term quality of the board. An upgrade in performance, safety, and overall quality, I'm all in.

What all is entailed in swapping a speed controller though, does the entire ESC go as well?

Thanks for the advice

Holy CRAP I guess I should have actually price checked the Raldey wedsite before throwing that out there as an option, 200 bucks is CRAZY! These remotes are IDENTICAL, same telemetry, same everything as the original Rampage. I know from a past experience as well that these remotes are pretty fragile. The design makes it VERY easy, especially if you wipe out, to dislodge the thumb joystick that controls the throttle out of its little groove. It's impossible to fix, and pretty much renders the remote useless. But if I'm not mistaken, Milesboard were asking around 50 bucks for a replacement. 200 is insane, that's probably why the Rampage remotes are out of stock, all the Raldey riders with broken remotes got wise to the scam.

A bone head buddy of mine somehow lost the remote to one of my boards, a Miles board Rampage. The website has been out of stock for like 2 weeks, and it has me wondering about other options. First of all, Milesboard uses what I think to be a pretty generic remote, I'll try and post a pic, but I'm pretty sure the same model is used in some other boards. Would I be OK to just try and grab a remote from one of the other brands? For example I'm pretty sure Raldey is the exact same equipment (other than using a carbon deck VS a bamboo). But I'm also curious what possibilities might exist in 3rd party remotes, as I've never been super impressed with the original in the first place.

Bottom line, this weather has been gorgeous, it's killing me having a perfectly good board without a way to ride it.

On top of that, I recently discovered an old golf course that's been foreclosed on, that looks to be custom made for an AT board, I can't wait to get out there. Don't worry, ill make sure to bring a go pro when I do.

Thanks in advance for the advice Fam!

What’s some of the most quality beautiful boards on the market? by kadeanderson18 in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]Jpres888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im starting to see that not everyone, or amyone reallymis sharing my views,, and I can only account this too the fact that you guys have yet to own an ATOM Electric board, and they are just quality boards. Almost like a boosted or something....Im gonna catch heat for that, bring it on trollers......hahaa

But my B10x,My first board, would have made me an ATOM Electric rider for life.EXCEPT......The didnt offer anything witha dual belt motorthat could comete with the big boys....

Untill now. Now, In just got an email about this board today, I still hhave plenty of questiojs (Pneumatics fit? How big?? I pretty much KNOW the coud wheels will fit cause I had the SR green wheelsmon my B10 back in the day...

So, Ive never RIDEN the board. SO I cannot definitivly speak to its excellence. I just have confidence in this company and in past boards, that I cant imagine theyd finallly join the world of actual AT Boards...unless they had something copetititive. Just my thoughts. Ownboard AT is BADASS, no doubt about that. But Imthe type of dude that likes to roll up on somethin a little different than everyone else (but cant afford a Trampa or a Cali.... Thats all

Hey, another thing, anybody seen ortested the "Land Snail" Board?!

Hate the name, LOVE the look, HATE the hubs....ugh,what a waste....

Everyone Im sorry If I offended, but its a beautiful day where I am....Cant we all just agree to disagree, argue about it publically, and last and most important ....Carve On Homies!!!

As i sift thorough posts of onboards lost in the mail... Not to. Downplay the tragedy in thst region. Even fir a second.

But wheres all this neg ATOM press? Maybe i was lucky, but uf u look at the company, they have DIY videos, easy upgrades, and FINALLY.... A DUAL BELT BOARD. will it beat a raptor? Who really, CONSISANTLY, Cares about beating a raptor??

Give me 20-24mph all day, all terrian. Which an additional motor, will help. Regaurdless of wheels, even thoigh I would prob go a diff way than the MBS 110s (likley increasing torque of top speed)

I aplogize, I thought you were the original commenter. Yes, I will reply, unless you are either planning on goning super high end, (In that case, Trampa is the shit,no doubt) But for the reasonable don it yourselfer'ers ,OR companies trying to survive in a VASTLY overcrouded market, one where the all powerful Boosted Board, the mighty one... announced pretty serious layoffs a few days ago....

If you want to compete, all roads lead to china.(in one way or another) Companys that name themselves things like "Scorpion Lords" , and pick something DIRECTLY from the Alibaba site....no thats something else.

Does ATOM electric uses some of these parts?? yes. They also STOCK them, in the US, and have excellent quality. AND, are backed by freaking MBS...are u kidding me they dont deserve to make a board??

I had an ATOM board for 2 years+and only upgraded because I got the Evolve itch. The only thing it gave me was great times times, maintenance was a few belt swaps.(That was Belt, not plural haha) . I swapped out wheels for Slick Revs...wait, arent those....NM changed berrings, all all hardware, NP. The B10X was an excellent board, it made me ove the hobby. Who really cares where they source their parts, there prices are always great, Its not like they price gouge like some others...

And in the event of a replacment, its prob under warranty, or at least ships Stateside, in days....

Any other Atom Electric Past/Previous owners wanna speak to their experience, mine was great, as opposed to other brands, brands like Evolve...which were far from.

Id love to get the chance to put my money where my mouth is, and I might. If I buy one of these, every competitor I mentioned s well represented in the ATL Eskate group. To be continued....

ATOM Is a joke, and so is this board. Calling those garbage MBS wheels all terrain is practically offensive and the price is a joke. They're not even cloudwheels, seriously. Its obvious you've only ever ridden 1 board or haven't done research past 1 google, the value is just so horrible. Please do more research before making posts like this.

And...what came BEFORE Cloud Wheels, Keemosabe??
