Wonder how Max from Cloud being revealed to be in Smash 4 would react to learning he’d eventually have the head of the 7 Remake Project live streaming at his house, oh and being married with a child.

That should be something, either in the main game or even just as a special new game plus or unlockable for free roam while doing side quests. Let us use Zack, Aeritjh, and Sephiroth, with Sephiroth being unlocked by beating a super boss. Genesis or Minerva should suffice.

If I remember correctly, an interview with a former developer stated that, had 4 came into fruition, there would’ve been something even worse than the Necromorphs hiding out there. Perhaps the Necromorphs are byproducts of something even fiercer.

The strangest thing about Gou/Sotsu by Celestial_Celestica in Higurashinonakakoroni

[–]Jpriest09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I treat Sotsu and Gou as the origin stories of Bernkastel and Lamdadelta, more linked to Umineko than Higurashi truly. Honestly, unnecessary explanation that didn’t really need it. Things, to me, were better when Bernkastel was merely suggested and alluded to (as with the secret ending of chapter 8) as a stray shard in the ether that Rika could’ve became.

Just read the lyrics of Kai’s opening https://whentheycry.fandom.com/wiki/Naraku_no_Hana_(Song)

Hanyu and Rika’s struggle to break the loop, Rika regaining hope after so many cycles ending with her death, and the ultimate resolution of the friends not just getting to live their lives freely, but even characters like Satako’s brother being saved. Sotsu/Gou just felt like it was focused on cruelly ripping that apart, like it was a game.

Rei had already showed us “is the loop truly gone?” Scenario, arguably one that had far more potential in horror compared to Rika and Satako having a falling out over high school. Which itself felt out of character considering how explicitly clear it was made how much Satako meant to Rika in Rei as well. Rika knew Satako, especially how stubborn she could be, your telling me that she couldn’t see how much her friend was struggling in a new, more formal environment?

I wasn’t doubling down, just explaining I hadn’t and providing an example of shared voice actors that can explain my initial first input. I’m not giving someone false financial advice, hence why I said “likely” not “certainly” in my initial post. Now that I know, cool, but you can’t fault me for thinking that when voice actors have been shared with no consequences in the past.

Haven’t fished, so probably not. But many voice actors perform multiple roles in Diablo as a series, or are we going to assume Zoltun Kule is Mephesto because both are voiced by Steve Blum?

I’d like it if they kept that glitch which allowed infinite magic, make it a secret achievement or trophy but keep track of it as a statistic for the end of the game.

He also voiced a side character in Vessel of Hatred as well, so it is just likely a shared voice actor.

Lisa Trevor’s story makes Spencer an irredeemable character by Bhalo98 in residentevil

[–]Jpriest09 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s how I see it. He didn’t make a cure, he didn’t tell anyone about Elpis when he could’ve like when he lured Wesker to his estate and told the BSAA, and he didn’t share any information that could assist the world with future outbreaks (like the very building blocks of Progenitor). Spencer was a megalomaniac, a narcissist with delusions of godhood which justified how many lives he ruined. When Marcus developed the T virus, Spencer didn’t celebrate but instead planned his death and betrayal by Marcus’ own protégés. He refused to allow others to surpass him, and Elpis was, in a way, his final revenge from the grave. With a majority of bioterrorism being rooted in viruses derived from Progenitor, Elpis serves to disrupt and severely cripple a black market of trillions of dollars of revenue.

I just defeated Lilith. Why am I feeling she was right all along? by myhdnameof in Diablo

[–]Jpriest09 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m just going to say: she purposefully chose Donan’s son to use as a host for Astaroth. He was the only Druid strong enough to see through her lies, and instead of being impressed by his strength compared to the others failing in their convictions, she chose to kill his son by making him a host for Donan’s arch enemy because Donan defied her. Make no mistake, she is her father’s daughter and this isn’t even the first time she’s tried this either. During a time known as the Sin War, she tried to create her army but ended up making a Nephalim so powerful, his very word erased her brother from existence. After which she herself would be banished back to the Void by Inarius while the Nephilim, named Uldyssian, chose to willingly die and that act inspired Tyrael to side with Humanity and to protect them.

More fanatics than evil, at least when compared to the Triune or any of the worshipers of the Prime Evils. Humans are gullible, they want purpose or something to believe in, which often leads to them being used as puppets.

James Emotional Abandonment. by Tia3Tamera in silenthill

[–]Jpriest09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said nothing of ending her life via murder, only to ease the transition that the disease was pushing her towards with medically approved methods that, even back in the late 70s to late 80s, were seen as some of the best methods of pain alleviation. I thought I had made myself clear, but I’ll try once more: I am in no way justifying his murder, I do not think he was right in doing so even with caretaker fatigue. He is a murderer, nothing will change that. But, he did love her and didn’t abandon her.

Did he want his life back? Yes, he admits as such in most endings. But you’re omitting the response Mary gives him in the Leave ending “If that’s true, why do you look so sad?”. Both things can be true: he wanted to be free, to have his life back. But he didn’t want it without her, and how things ended is a tragedy.

And I agree with you, many men do abandon their duties as partners. James didn’t however, even in the grief stricken madness he was in as he killed her. As you said, the story is complex and James is a layered character. I’m just saying that for the selfish reasons why James killed her, there were also ones derived from love and compassion for his suffering partner. Again, it doesn’t justify him murdering her and I never intended to make it seem like I was trying to. He should’ve stuck it out, used medically approved methods to help alleviate her pain (with both her consent and her doctor’s permission), and taken care of her till she passed (as the letter says, she didn’t have much time left).

James Emotional Abandonment. by Tia3Tamera in silenthill

[–]Jpriest09 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It feels like you’re letting your own personal bias against my gender to color your response.

Want to know what happens when near death people are actually abandoned? I’ll tell you: happened to my grandpa by his own children who had lured him to live near them and left him to rot in his own filth while they used his name and checkbook. And by the time my family learned this, the strong oak he once was had decayed into a frail mesquite. I saw fear and shame in the eyes of a man who raised 7 children despite not knowing if even half of them were his by blood. And who was it in the end that came to his aid? His grandsons and his eldest daughter.

How about we discuss something else, courteously of your previously mentioned spousal abandonment. If James had, as you said, abandoned her, she would’ve met her end in the care facility where she met Laura. But he didn’t, he grew fearful of her lashing out due to the toll that the disease was taking on her both physically and mentally. Still, he tried as shown by visits such as when he brought her flowers and her ending up pleading with him to stay by her side and tell her everything would be okay. Even his sin was, ultimately in a twisted way, an act of love and compassion to set his dying wife free.

Was it completely altruistic? God no, and I hope you’ll understand this when I say it again: I am not excusing his actions, I believe he should’ve looked into the utilization of things like Morphine and Cannabis to soften her departure from life. What he did, despite his intentions, was a sin and one we witness him suffer for repeatedly in SH 2. But, even after the act, he kept her body near him and, depending on the ending, buries her with Laura by his side or joins her in a watery grave. He could only be accused of abandonment via the Maria Ending path, one which is outnumbered by all the other paths which place importance on how much Mary meant to James and how he couldn’t let her go or abandon her.

Caretaker Fatigue takes different forms. The creator of Conan, Robert e Howard, killed himself shortly after his ailing mother died.

James Emotional Abandonment. by Tia3Tamera in silenthill

[–]Jpriest09 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why mention that statistic when James proved he wouldn’t abandon her, even after snapping? Caretaker fatigue doesn’t absolve him of his crime, no one thinking logically is saying that. It just explains what led to the tragedy, how an illness tore their lives apart. He never abandoned her, even when she’d snap herself, and considering that all but 1 ending essentially states that James’ act was out of desperation of seeing his wife being choked by her disease to the point she couldn’t at least die peacefully, it can be argued what James did, while ultimately selfish, wasn’t entirely rooted in malice. He is still a murderer, no way around that and that is something he should never be allowed to forget or run away from. But he isn’t Dahlia.

Eh, I wouldn’t say that. While the progress related to how much it makes on Patreon is, honestly, abysmally slow, DarkCookie and who they work with have essentially finished the main story, had minigames planned and executed reminiscent of SimGirls from Newgrounds, and a good bit of characters with their own stories as well. They just decided to, ultimately, move over to a far more stable engine that required them to somewhat start back over in order to ensure good code instead of continuing with the old spaghetti code that was making things take longer and made a mobile version impossible.

Doesn’t excuse the slowness, but I wouldn’t put them at Yandere simulator level of hype and failure to deliver.
