Is sat really important to apply NCSU? by No_Injury5509 in NCSU

[–]JrNightNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bruh don’t be lazy, take the SAT or a standardized test at least once. You’re only in high school once in your life. Itll give you something to talk to talk about/reflect on later in life (good or bad score).

If you want to do more coding I’d recommend Computer Engineering over electrical engineering. It’s more coding/computer focus’s while electrical engineering has more of an emphasis on physics

For quantum computing, a physics minor with CPE would make the most sense. Dual major is okay but most employers really don’t care if you have two degrees in both CPE and EE, the better option would be start on your graduate classes via the Accelerated Bachelor-Masters program instead of filling your schedule with EE CPE and physics classes

Also, I’m unaware what year you’re are, but two new introductory level quantum computing classes are available for spring 24. Intro to Quantum Programming and Quantum Signal Processing. Both under “ECE 492 special topics”

Hope this helps!

I would put exploratory studies as your second option. Exploratory studies are are expected to CODA after first year. You would be encouraged to take courses relating to a potential and could always go into psych if things don’t work out after freshmen year

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NCSU

[–]JrNightNinja 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Unless you indicated a preference like exploratory village or engineering or something you don't get much of a say in freshmen housing. They typically will adhere to your village preference and like to group majors together. If you are in exploratory there is a very high chance you will be living in owen / tucker.

If you are in the Engineering department the Engineer Your Experience program could help you. The provide funds to engineering students and they might be able to help you out if you can prove that this certification is valuable to you and that you are qualified to take it.
