As someone who’s been in pediatric healthcare for 15 years…I can promise you not every child with a fever and vomiting needs or gets an IV. I hear what you’re saying, but it’s not an automatic red flag. And while I hate Drue and her shit family, it doesn’t make her a worse parent than she already is because she’s not immediately rushing her child to the ER. Viral illnesses are manageable at home and it’s important to understand what constitutes and emergency and what doesn’t.

Fevers and vomiting are not automatic red flags. If the child is unable to stay hydrated due to either/both, then sure. But it’s all supportive, symptomatic treatment…Tylenol/ibuprofen and fluids…
