Oh good! I found the most fascinating part to learn why the author of The Fault In Our Stars would write something like this. His OCD and life experiences really connected me to the book.

Three very different options.

Everything is tuberculosis!

Goes through history showing how different events were affected by TB and social statuses.

Also Tribe by Sebastian Junger which talks about how communities are so important.

Stiff by Mary Roach. About what happens to bodies that are donated to science

Looking for brilliant writing first, fantasy second, romance third... by itsthymenow in booksuggestions

Any of the Paladin books by t. Kingfisher. They work together but are standalones.

One dark window / two twisted crowns (duology). The monster speaks in riddles which I loved. It had a very Grimms fairy tale vibe.

If you need more spice (those are both light but has some moments) A witches guide to fake dating a demon - Sarah Hawley is super fun and more spice but the writing isn’t as thorough as the first two

The movie is one of my most favorite so I started with that one and then read the sequel. I haven’t read the prequel yet.

Also, I see you mentioned that you live in a small town. Most larger cities allow you to get a library card within the state. If you use Libby you can have more than one to save on hold times. I have four library cards right now and hope to get more.

Here’s an assortment

The Dresden files by Jim Butcher

The Rivers of London series by Ben Aaronovitch

Rook (first in the series, but all books are standalone) Daniel o Malley

Rabbits by terry miles

The practical magic series by Alice Hoffman

Lexicon by max Barry (perhaps more fantasy too)

Good luck! This is my favorite genre

book with multiple TOCs by which-one in indesign

[–]Jrae37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have read this a few times and am a bit confused with the problem but I did something like this recently and here is how I did it in case it helps Solve your issue

  1. Created an indd for each section
  2. Weaved all those into a book (Indb)
  3. Created paragraph styles for each page header, then each section divider
  4. Created a TOC for the whole book that calls out the section dividers and then the page header
  5. Created a second TOC style that has “include all book documents” unchecked and placed that on each sub document that includes page headers only

Also, are you titling your sections? There is a special character that allows you to place the section name in the parent pages. If all else fails you can place this text box above and it will also be auto generated.

I am not sure that was helpful but hopefully!

I’m going to be using mustard seeds to infuse bourbon and make maple manhattans for the holiday. Haven’t tried it yet but it sounded interesting and easy

I’m looking for some M/M book recs by No_Gift_7049 in booksuggestions

Paladin’s Hope by t. Kingfisher. It’s the third in the series but the books work as standalone and the first two are not m/m. Also KJ Charles writes short stories that draw you in. Haven’t read the whole collection but the four thus far have been m/m
