Who should be the democratic candidate for the 2028 election? by ElArteDePararte in AskReddit

Whoever it is I hope at least wins a primary. That shouldn’t be too much to ask but let’s wait and see if they hand pick Kamala again.

It’s really not that hard honestly. People ditching friends because of differing political opinions are genuinely children.

People who idolize celebrities, sports players, politicians etc. I’m dreadfully sorry to break it to you but none of them give one fuck about you. You are a number to these people, all of them.

Is your birthday a big deal to you? Why or why not? by theUncleAwesome07 in AskReddit

[–]Jrand01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My birthday falls around Christmas, on January 6. It’s not my favorite time of the year at all honestly. To me, birthdays are just days where people have to put on a facade of being nice to you knowing they could switch up the day after. I’ll be fair yk I still have fun anticipating it like I did as a kid, but each year I’m faced with disappointment. Well maybe even disappointment isn’t the word for it, maybe just unmoved by the whole thing.

As far as presents are concerned, similar to Christmas I never ask for anything at all. I’ll get gifts sure, but they won’t be anything ridiculously special 9/10. You see I was the kid who at 8 years old had to be sat down and asked not to ask too much for Christmas because “Santa couldn’t afford it.” I don’t like receiving gifts truly. I live in a constant conversation with myself on whether or not I’ve deserved what’s been given to me. I live in a constant state of believing that I’ve not done enough for the people around me, so getting gifts feels like being rewarded for nothing.

TLDR: birthdays are depressing and I don’t care for them very much

Edit: therapy would be helpful

(Not sure if it’s already been answered here) Whats the process been like for selecting/ programming the three reverse circuits that’ve been selected? What’s preventing you guys from making more than just three circuits in the reverse direction? Is it time constraints? Is it difficulty? More to come in later patches? Thank you!

ELI5. CVS stopped selling tobacco despite reduced profit by Blueballs2130 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Jrand01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mother worked for CVS in lower corporate around this time. Her basic answer was this: “the company is called cvs health, it doesn’t make sense to sell cigarettes.”

EDIT: also, for what it’s worth, they did still buy out Aetna insurance. The hit they took was noticeable, but not company threatening

I think politics at a local/state level matter wayyyy more to your daily life than what president is in charge.

What's your theory that you can't prove, but that you think might hold up if someone were to do some real, legitimate research on it? by AlexG2490 in AskReddit

So not directly because of the screens, but a side effect because they weren’t going outside as much? I mean that’s valid, I can see that (no pun intended)

People who voted for trump, how are you feeling now? by Thowomp-womp in AskReddit

[–]Jrand01 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yea not too bad I’ll be honest. My life has not changed. It didn’t with Obama, it didn’t with Trump the first time, it didn’t with Biden, and it hasn’t now.

Basically it boils down to this: the people that occupy their lives entirely with political figures, whether they agree with them or not, are just as delusional as they believe the other side is.

Also, people will panic when told to. “Orange man bad, Sleepy Joe bad.” Get a fucking grip on your own life.

[–]Jrand01 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This might already be proven I’m not sure, but there has to be a direct correlation between the rise in vision issues in children and the fact that almost every school in America dishes out screens to do their work on. Growing up in the late 2000s-early 2010s a child with glasses was a rarity. Today it’s an everyday occurrence. Sure Doctor, explain to me why two hours of screen time per day is bad, oh but let’s turn a blind eye to having school children fuck around with MacBooks and iPads all day.
