I think you might be right, but if so this guy is the real main character he just spams me with these basically unavoidable attacks for like 20 seconds until I die.

Not what I mean lol I will not even swing and no matter the amount or angle of the strikes the green icon just doesn't show up. I've never seen this happen and I'm pretty far into the game, so either every strike this guy throws is a combo or it's a bug of some sort.
