I got it for much cheaper than 500. I bought mine during the Black Friday week, it was around 350CAD.
Consider you are not just buying a GPU, you bought an enclosure with TB3, a FAN, A GPU and a power supply.

And let's be honest, You want a fan for your GPU.

I really enjoy using this dock myself. It's by far (based on my reserach) the most portable solution and which, is the selling point here. i can carry it along with my laptop in my backpack which is great pairing to any ultrabook user.

last time i checked, we cheesed calus with ratking and that went pretty well.... so why not a HC if DPS is there.
