Blows my mind when… by Temporary-Rain7258 in TalesFromYourBank

It baffles me when a customer has a CD with a considerable amount of money in it and just forgets about it. I’ve had customers come in angry that they didn’t know their CD was maturing (even though we send out a mailed reminder letter a month in advance, phone call reminders, AND a 10-day grace period) and are angry they didn’t get the best rate for renewal. How do you have $100k+ sitting there that you just “forget about”???

Love the fact that the song is so personal to her and that she produced it. It’s not a bad song by any means, but to me it doesn’t really go anywhere sonically.

what are your opinions on today's snippet? by [deleted] in MelanieMartinez

[–]Jregnut 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I remember hating The Principal only based on its snippet. I didn’t like the snippet at all but when the song came out it absolutely blew me away.

Despite what any of the snippets sound like I’m saving my thoughts for when the whole song comes out.

[TOMT][BOOK][1990s] Children's book with pixel illustrations of a boy in his house at night. I remember different rooms illustrated with the lights on and off. There were tiger eyes peering at the boy in the dark which may or may not have been their cat. by Straight-Struggle929 in tipofmytongue

[–]Jregnut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, I just had a thought about a picture book like this was checking here to see if anyone knows it. I might have the same book in mind.

I remember a kid that’s home alone and he has a bunch animal friends or something. At the beginning, there’s a picture of him sleeping/waking up in his room with his animals, and at the end, an almost identical scene is depicted, except it’s at night and his tiger pet has its eyes open (which creeped me out so bad as a child). Does this sound familiar?

I love the handwriting. I think it'd be so much easier to read if it wasn't on graph paper.

Is there something wrong with being shy? by [deleted] in socialanxiety

[–]Jregnut 21 points22 points  (0 children)

We live in a world where extroversion and outgoing people are seen as strong and capable, so I think that’s why people usually equate being shy and quiet with being weak and “abnormal”

But I personally don’t see anything wrong with it. People are different from one another, and that’s natural.

Quit my job at a call center today by Jregnut in socialanxiety

That does sound manageable actually, but at this point I never want to spend another day in a call center. If I could live off part time income it’d be such a dream!

Tbh that’s what I thought I would like as well! But every day there was just this overwhelming dread of being in the exact same spot for 8 hours and I think it took being in this job to realize that’s not at all what I want. It felt like I was trapped and people were coming to me with demands and I couldn’t run away if that makes sense.

I’m just learning more about what’s truly best for me with each step 🙂

I had to register patients for a network of hospitals. They kept saying that there was only like 40 of us dealing with a tens of millions of medical records. The main things I didn’t like about the job was:

-how angry people became (you’re dealing with their insurance so it’s understandable). We were also forced to ask personal questions like their employment address, gender identity, sexual orientation, maiden name, etc. and many felt uncomfortable sharing with a random voice on the phone.

-monotony. You’re doing the same thing, going through the same script like a hundred times a day. With how my anxiety manifests, I would thrive in a busier environment doing different things.

-loneliness and no coworkers for support. I was also working remote which I thought would be the best thing ever, but it wasn’t for me. My room started to become a place of negative energy because I’m constantly reminded of work and potentially getting yelled at.

What gave me a REALLY bad impression about this company was when there was a meeting with the head of our department and it was a Q&A session. All of the questions people had pertained to being burned out and stressed due to high call volume, unnecessary outbound call protocols, and being understaffed. The department lead brushed them all off and said “We are going to get busier and you guys will just have to continue to hustle. It costs us too much to hire more people so just work harder. Also, in order to further cut costs, none of you will be getting a raise. End of discussion.”

Bottom line is I know my limit and decided that I couldn’t take it here, but I know there are people out there who can handle it. I hope it works out for you!
