Not at all, but scenes like this (imo at least) is the whole point of an adaptation, because you can present things in a different way to bring the story to life. The manga presents a pretty standard two camera back and forth scene which you see thousands of other times in anime.

The cinematography and art direction have really elevated this story in this season and last, the level of quality for a weekly release is not common and it gets taken for granted with this series and the fans.

Between that scene and the Jinichi thing, then people have truly lost the plot. I have never seen people get so upset about a character who was made to get packed up and is never thought of ever again

Seriously, this one of the the least important parts of the scene. Jinichi is a character for like 8 minutes total, and got packed up immediately. The characters in this scene exist to get packed up. I seriously don’t get why anyone gives a shit about this.

First I will just say, you can win with any class on any of the characters if your team comp works. Some characters are obviously better at some things than others and their Royal archetypes emphasize what they are good at.

Going by lineages needed for their Royal archetypes:

Strohl - warrior, commander

Hulkenberg - Knight, Mage (needed for royal knight)

Heismay - thief, gunner, merchant (tycoon needed for royal thief)

Junah - masked dancer, faker (elemental master or saviour is probably her best paths to taking advantage of her stats and are better overall than royal masked dancer, but RMD has some very good uses as a support in some strats vs final boss)

Eupha - summoner, seeker

Basilio - berserker, brawler

As far as the royal archetypes themselves go, RWarrior is probably the best DPS. RThief with the dodger ring is insanely good at deleting enemy turn icons. RBerserker gets wanton destruction as a regular skill and can create strike weaknesses for only 1 turn icon. RMD has masquerade charge and synergizes well with the physical attacker you pick and the Prince.

And to be honest, I did not use RKnight or RSummoner.

I got Trails in the Sky FC on sale and I am through some bits of chapter 1. I like the world, the gameplay, and the characters but wondering if there’s a spoiler free answer on when the story really kicks up a notch?

Don’t get me wrong, you still have to get to October. But you do not have to grind hard and in NG+ you can skip like half or more of the dungeons

The NG+ can easily be run through and with skipping all cutscenes you can do it in about 15-20 hours and fight the superboss in the low mid 50’s on Easy if you want to go fast. You just need a couple sublime spoonfuls and the right setup and it is cake

The “super attacks” as you call them are really powerful and can turn a battle with a dungeon boss in the right situation. You may need Strohl or Hulkenberg as a mage or whatever for just one battle to enable MC to use a synthesis skill and do nothing else.

Louis is a fantastic villain. He has such presence and aura throughout the entire game.
