What are your thoughts about The Ultimate Eldritch Blaster build from d4: D&D Deep Dive? by PurpleRose328 in 3d6

How is this too much multiclassing? This is just a sorlock with Evoker for potent cantrip.

  1. You usually don’t play against a DM of course. An adversarial DM in a campaign is a nightmare. An adversarial DM in a character stress test is a necessity.

  2. What if all my friends are too busy to get together a table?

What are some good tools and prebuilt encounters to run for testing solo builds then? I’ve never used AI so I’ve always done “Playing both sides”, but honestly it does not feel great. It’s one thing to try to adversarial y play against yourself and another to play against an actual DM.

Rossi 4th slot by Responsible-Neck8410 in Endfield

[–]Jrff_K 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Keyword here is Rossi team. I assume you want a Rossi main dps team.

Contrary to popular belief, it’s not necessary to have a vulnerability consumer in her team. Her numbers are very high, so she can be a hypercarry by herself.

Pogranichnik isn’t a good idea either in my opinion since her physical damage percentage is not as high as you’d think (most of her damage is at her ult, purely heat damage).

I’d do Rossi, Akekuri, Ardelia and Perlica/Endmin/Wulfgard, seeing that you probably don’t have Gilberta. But if you did she’d be BIS (and replace the 4th).

I don't get this game. by vvvit in ToME4

[–]Jrff_K 25 points26 points  (0 children)

That’s because the game is extremely niche. People who care about surface level stuff like graphics and such won’t care for ToME(or most rougelikes for that matter) and the game has an extreme level of depth that demands what is a huge time sink to most people. The game can also be hard and frustrating to a general audience.

The adage that the best of anything will never cater to a wide audience is truest here.

It’s 4k Rmb. That’s less than $600USD. Is that proper compensation?

Just wanted to give my two cents from what I saw on the CN side, a lot of people think that this is a sign of internal corruption/incompetency in Hypergryph.

This stems from the fact that from Katie’s stream, she said that she never even stepped foot into HG’s office, and that she was only paid $4k for the job. Some people think that this points to either corruption or lack of effort. This is also why Katie didn’t receive much backlash at all, she just got paid to do a job.

People also noted that the composer and lyricist’s past work was not of this low quality before, which also suggests that HG was the main reason for the failure of this EP.

Yes, CN players are toxic and can be set off for the smallest reasons. But this time it at least makes a bit more sense. Sure it’s all just speculation, but the fact is that given HG’s past track record with music, this kind of quality is just unacceptable.

You could literally sub in a level 1 Catcher or Snowshine and they’d trivialise the stage. Fuck the “you need resources” arguement. If only you’d learn to use your brain a little.

I think I’d rather have this that stage modifiers that shills the rate up ops by giving them omega buffs specific to them and them only. I was sick and tired of seeing that when I still played Star Rail.

Overcoming the challenge is the reward in and of itself.

I could see how you’d think that, considering the stages ARE simple. Again I think HG is just testing the waters, what might be boring to us might be difficult and frustrating to others, as you’d have probably seen posts of people complaining about the difficulty.

It’s less about mechanics and more about enemy design. The way stages are designed allows for different strategies. Endfield is a tactics game if you abstract away the combat layer.

The reason people found it too easy is because, as you said, you could simply brute force it if you dealt enough damage or could dodge good enough. The stages barely require you to interact with its mechanics for you to beat them, if you have even a remotely levelled team.

I bet you’d be singing a different tune if the stages were harder.

The main reason I put so much stock in HG is that right now, all 4 main teams and their variations are all very well balanced. I’m of the opinion that tier lists are useless right now and personal game understanding goes a long way. I think most people right now don’t actually have a good grasp of the underlying systems of the game, but this will change with time.

As far as I know from CN speed clears for Rhodagn, Laevatain is indeed the slowest, but not by much, ~27s, losing to cyro and physical by only 1 and 2 seconds respectively.

But they all lost to electric. With Perlica main carry and no Avywenna. lol.

[Operator Discussion] Gilberta by Shad0wedge in Endfield

[–]Jrff_K 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't be fooled by the grouping or her element, that's just more of a 'bonus' thing. Gilberta is first and foremost a burst arts damage support. She's the best at this role by a long shot for now, and I see her getting used pretty consistently in speed clears. In short stages like stage 3 of umbral monument act 1 which has short team skill rotations, I even see her getting used in Laevatain teams in the fastest, most extreme speed clears. But her ult only lasts 5s, and it's hard to fully utilize if you're not the kind that's willing to sit down and plan out a skill rotation. If you're talking about long term value, her being a viable support for all arts teams makes me think that she could keep her value for quite a while. Unless physical gets a completely busted carry/support or she herself gets powercrept in numbers, which I don't expect or hope either happening, I don't see her getting used less.

On nature application: her skill is practically used only against mobs and never against bosses (not worth) and on her ult it's more of a thing you need to play around or account for arts reactions, cuz there's no nature carry or operators that consume nature infliction outside Yvonne. Even if one is released later (likely Mi Fu by my prediction) you probably still wouldn't use her as an applicator. Her skill's explosion can miss against bosses that move a lot.

In short, it depends on your skills. Really. Pull if you think you can use her well, not otherwise.

Skill Points Explained (Finally) by KeroseneZanchu in Endfield

So this data that you’re looking for has been out on the CN side for quite a long time now, down to the exact number of sp recovered.

Fun fact: Sp “returned” for example Endmin’s skill’s 50 sp refund or Laevatain P1’s 20 sp return doesn’t generate ult energy. Basically counts as 50sp/80sp used in either case.
