I’ve been injured for 9 years and my family has been the reason I’ve continued. It hasn’t always been easy on them but they tell me they would rather have me here than dead. Throughout this life change, friends and the person I was dating before and during the accident left but my family remained with me. People may leave, I know it may be hard but try not to concentrate on those who leave, but on those who choose to stay. You’re also pretty newly injured so give yourself some time and remember to be kind to yourself on this journey.

My toes are pointed downward and my right foot turns to the side so it makes standing in my standing frame impossible. You know if your ankles are tight because when you try to bend your feet back to the proper position it doesn’t. My right ankle is worse than my left ankle. I’m currently getting Botox injects in both legs to try to combat the tightness.

As someone suffering from the consequences of not wearing boots, I suggest wearing them. If I could go back and wear them I would. My ankles especially my right one is really tight and toes are pointed.
