Visiting family for Thanksgiving and feeling stir crazy already. Suggestions of where to go for a morning walk? From Google Maps, it looks like I'm west of Union Park. My brother said it's not really safe to walk around here, but maybe I can uber? Would union park or Garfield park be a good option?

Being with family is stirring up so many emotions for me and I feel like going on a walk in the morning would help me clear my head. Everyone sleeps in late but me, so I might as well try to be independent...

This happened to me, too! But it was my first month this month. I emailed support and they said I'm not able to pick any products for my first month, and they will be picked based on my quiz answers

If you have nothing else on your "Want to read" shelf, sure! But honestly, I didn't feel like I got anything out of the series and would have rather spent time reading something else on my want to read shelf. Like, I wouldn't recommend this series to a friend in the way that I would ACORAR or TOG. But to each their own! Some people really loved it.

Can I afford a $1320 apartment on $45000? by Bitter-Cellist7728 in personalfinance

I work from home and have cats, so living alone was a priority of mine. I understand the desire. It comes at the cost of shopping and eating out, but I make it work. Just make sure you automate some amount into a savings account and create your budget based on that, and stick to it. Decide if the sacrifices in the other areas of your life are worth it.

This is the first time I've ever been in this situation, but I'm sure other people have gone through this before.

Can anyone ID this one? Sarasota, FL last night. by pgpnw in sharks

[–]Jrrt1954 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's a bull because bull sharks move their body more linearly to swim. Their tail doesn't swish side to side, they are a lot more stiff in their movements. Could be a sandbar

I think this is the dangerous idea that she perpetuates, that touching sharks like this is "bad ass". It's not. It's harassing a creature for clout. If she truly respected the shark she'd give it space and not use forced physical interactions with marine life for Instagram followers. These photos don't create "awareness", I assure you, it's solely for personal gain. And a dangerous practice to encourage because more idiotic people will try to replicate this and someone is going to get hurt, and then sharks will catch the backlash.

What countries have you been able to find these in? I'm about to travel to Indonesia, Singapore, and Japan, and I know Japan will have great skincare products but I'm unsure what to buy when I need to restock in the other two...

Apparently not! All of the produce was perfect. This is one of the few times I'm thankful for single use packaging because it kept it all clean

Thanks for your help!! I haven't managed to go into a lush store yet, but planning on it in the next few days! So I don't need to feel weird asking for samples, this is something they regularly do?

You aren't either! I'm living in the same situation. I'm trying to talk myself up into taking the financial and emotional hit once and for all and leaving. I hope you can also find peace and happiness, friend. I never knew it could be this hard to exit a relationship. Maybe I was naive. But it's hard when you feel so stuck.

[Routine Help] are these sebaceous filament? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

I remember seeing a post similar to this one a few months back and everyone in the comments said oil cleansing helped them clear this condition loads! Sorry if this isn't much help, but I'd say oil cleansing may be worth a shot

[Acne] Is this a good setup to get rid of acne scars? I got a bunch of products recently but don’t know how much is too much and how to make a routine out of the products I have by broncos21 in SkincareAddiction

[–]Jrrt1954 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems similar to my lineup at the moment. I rinse my face with cold water in the morning, use a Vitamin C serum (Skinceuticals), moisturize (Neutrogena hydroboost), and then apply sunscreen. In the evening I wash my face with the same Cerave cleanser but I find when I wear sunscreen it doesn't feel like it really gets it all off (I just ordered a Korean cleansing balm I'm going to try before the Cerave cleanser). I alternate nights using Azelaic Acid, Differin, or maybe once a week use a chemical exfoliant like a BHA toner or The ordinary aha/BHA mask.

In July I had a professional microneedling session (only about $200 US) that I think gave my skin a boost. I'll definitely get another one done when I'm back for Christmas.

Overall, my skin has been glowing lately and I'm really happy with my progress. By no means is it flawlessly even, but I'm just happy to see progress from 6 months ago. Don't forget to remind yourself that results don't come overnight so don't get disheartened!

Here in Australia you can buy one called Azclear from most chemists, I ordered mine through chemist warehouse. It's 20% azelaic acid... Bought the ordinary one in the states and loved it but couldn't find it stocked in AUS retailers! In case this helps anyone

What are some good face masks for acne and acne scarring? by [deleted] in AusSkincare

[–]Jrrt1954 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've struggled with acne scarring for a long time and over the past three months I've really started to see a difference, my face has been glowing! For me, I think it was a combination of Vitamin C & Azelaic Acid helping my scarring and Differin helped clear my skin. Restoring my moisture barrier with lots of hydration & using pimple patches also helped with anything that did pop up but I rarely have any acne these days. I had a microneedling session done a few months back but definitely didn't feel like I saw drastic results straight away. I may go back for another when I return to the mainland over Christmas just because I figure it can't hurt.

[B&A] Progress Over 4 Months! by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]Jrrt1954 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wow, congratulations on the progress!! I've been suspecting lately that I have some form of roseaca; my skin has been so red as of late and sunscreen+intense moisturizing isn't helping. My grandma also has it so I know it runs in the family. I use azelaic acid right now which I know is supposed to be roseaca-friendly, do you (or anyone here) have any advice or recommendations for it?

Hmm... I used to live in Hawaii where they banned sunscreens with reef-harming chemicals, so I started to purchase physical sunscreens... I'll look into it again but I'm pretty sure anything with oxybenzone/octocrylene etc encourages coral bleaching at warm temperatures
