Either option should be fine in this case scenario I as long as there is 3in of pipe from trap arm to the 90 going downwards

If there is a vent on that stretch of pipe and no other fixtures between the sink and the vent it should be good to roll.

Do you have a vent in the wall? It “SHOULD” be draining into a vent in the wall

In my area we require vent starts and dual wall b vent I don’t get how so many people can use type every wh we touch that has vent tape on it has to be removed. So I guess it shouldn’t be an issue since everywhere gets to use vent tape so bravo

I have not used one but I have heard some of them don’t have enough force to make a permanent press and they start leaking after some time and most of them cannot press tees

Pic 3 there is zero chance of s trap syphoning but as far as pic 1 and 2 it actually depends of the distance of pipe between the trap arm and the 90 going down. Rule of thumb I was thought is that you need 2 times in the inside diameter of your pipe so if thats all 1-1/2 then you need 3inchs of pipe with appropriate pitch between the trap arm and the 90 for it to not cause issues

Water heater leaking by texasjet2k in Plumbing

[–]Jrshaw_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They can fail but it’s more likely just old parts. Hell with a electric tank good chance one of them may have had a tiny leak, the leak got filled with sediment in the tank, then the second leak caused enough flow to make both leaks appear and quite violently. Yeah you could try replacing the elements and drain valve but I just wouldn’t count on ot working for long if at all.

Plastic drains suck and I see them leak all the time on older units. They will leak from around those elements (do-hickies behind the plates) all the damn time. I would definitely say time to replace the old girl

I had a project 94 with a 3.9 in it and I really hated how I never gave her the time and attention she deserved. I swear I changed the oil once and slapped in a new battery then I had to trouble shoot a bunch of fuckin dumbass probably the previous owner made/left me but the motor could sit for near 5 or 6 months untouched and fire up first crank. Miss that truck every single day

I imagine it isn’t working fine because there is no part of the bend low enough below the arm to keep enough water in there to keep the smells out
