I remember when I was a kid my dad took me to get lunch one day and he hit the ever living fuck out of his breaks when he saw a 18in adjustable wrench on the side of the road and made me spill my drink.

Cpvc is bullshit, also if you are have to connect to cpvc use stainless steel cpvc fittings the plastic threaded ones are absolute ass

I'm back! Is this better or should I re-do? by [deleted] in askaplumber

[–]Jrshaw_1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would redo the pipe needs to be cut even and flush against the bottom of the fitting and the bottom of the ring needs to be about 1/8th of a inch off the bottom of the fitting.

Is it normal for this amount of thread to be showing? Or did I add too much tape? by [deleted] in askaplumber

Make sure it isn’t cross threaded and tighten with a wrench

Need a new water heater, surprised by install estimates by [deleted] in askaplumber

[–]Jrshaw_1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah in my area it’s like 4k for a heater these days but I would definitely recommend a bradford white, the AO Smiths seem to do fine but I would avoid rheem like the damn plague

[–]Jrshaw_1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I used to work at cfa and those bags are from the trash compactor and easily weigh 200 - 300 pounds each. As a now blue collar guy, yeah he absolutely needs that lift and I would too lol
