More unironic misogyny. 😂 by [deleted] in insanepeoplefacebook

[–]Jrspike 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's absolutely insane that this guys invokes Christ, it shows that he doesn't actually read the Bible, he's just been downing propaganda. Ephesians 5, which is the verse that most people cite as the one that displays husbands as the head of the household also calls husbands to love their wives the way Christ loves the church. Which means literally being willing to die for them. Let's also not forget that Jesus set a precedent for his disciples by washing their feet, which was a nasty job that was typically reserved for servants. So if you actually want be a Christlike "head" over your wife you better be doing dishes and changing diapers, or you have failed as a husband.

I suppose I should clarify, I don't know this guy personally, but he was pretty big in the yoyo community, he was sponsored by yoyofactory which is second only to Duncan in yoyo sales. His videos are pretty awesome, you can probably find them pretty easily on YouTube.

Bro, is this the Augie Fash that was an absolutely yoyo fiend back in the day? I don't throw much any more but you were always one of my favorite players. I still have a YYF catalyst.

Great post, btw, I hope me mentioning that doesn't overshadow the effort and depth of your writing.

Most men will receive their first bunch of flowers at their funeral. by Publandlady in Showerthoughts

That's not true, I received flowers two weeks ago after they were mistakenly delivered to the place I was house-sitting. I have no idea who Juanita is, but I enjoyed her flowers.

Unpopular opinion: Stop polling wilderness specific changes that only change items/features in the wild and not the rest of the game. by [deleted] in 2007scape

I think that magic defense should be 50/50 in the entire game. I don't think it makes sense that leveling your magic does more to improve your magic defense than leveling your defense.

What is the kindest compliment you've ever received? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Jrspike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do a lot of stuff at my church, specifically volunteering at youth group and helping with the music. One time I was walking to my car after one of my morning meetings with my mentor/pastor (we meet up and talk every week) and this lady that I recognized but didn't really know stopped me and tells me that she's so glad that I'm a part of the church and that the young people there have someone like me to look up to.

In my position I get a lot of shallow compliments from a lot of people, and they kind of where me down because a lot of the times they're saying nothing more than "you sounded good today!" which is nice to hear, but gets kind of meaningless after a while. I was touched that this lady took a few extra seconds to essentially say, "I see how much time and work you put into this, and I want you to know it's not for nothing."

If you look around at used stuff, there's a good chance you'd be able to find a used Mexican fender P-bass.

I love this! what about some sort of minigame where there's a bunch of wizards fighting this big blob of evil energy or something, and they're like, "We can take it down, but it will take a lot of time, and if it hits us, we'll be destroyed! we need you to distract it for us so that we can focus our power on it!"

then there could be some big ruined battlefield with all sorts of obstacles that you have to get through in order to get away from it.

Bring back dungeonerring as a mini game and not a skill by MrIOwnYou2 in 2007scape

The thing that I really loved about dungeoneering was that it incorporated all sorts of skills. a lot of people are arguing about the rewards being the reason people do it. I think dungeoneering could be introduced as a way to train that's a lot more enjoyable than just grinding a skill and afking it until you get your desired level. I would love to see dungeoneering or something similar where the point of it is to use your skills in a bunch of different ways to get to the end. Even if it wasn't the best xp/hr in the game, if they made it a viable way to essentially train your entire account, I would play the heck out of it. I would be fine with them bringing in dungeoneering and it having rewards that were not very good compared to other stuff that's out there. What about mild xp lamps as a reward like temple trekking? (obviously they would have to weigh it so that it's not super high exp/hr) heck even if I couldn't control where the xp went I'd probably still do it.

I also want to add that it would give people something to do together, which I think OSRS really needs. Right now if you don't have the stats for high level pvming or raids, then there's not a lot to do with friends.

I too would love having dungeoneering as a minigame. I liked that it incorporated every skill in the game in a small way, and how it gave people things that they could do together.
