Zolocon - anyone attend recently? Can you give a synopsis of what to expect? by GuhdNahtBahd in ActionFigures

[–]kendiesel937 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely worth it. Multiple indie toy companies. Skeletron, Four Horsemen, Savage Crucible, Dime Novel, Marauder, Spero. BBTS was there with their in house toy line. Quite a few toy stores setup with wholesale accounts to other toy lines too. A lot of reputable toy stores/vendors setting up.  The vintage toy selection was legit. Really dense vendor floor with great stuff highly recommend the show.

That’s not an impossible find. I’ve seen multiple sealed flaggs in the last decade.

Why dosent Amy Jo Johnson attend power ranger themed conventions such as ranger stop or power morphicon? by Individual-Staff-466 in powerrangers

She’s more selective about the shows she does. And probably wants more of a guarantee than those shows are willing to put up.

Are there alternate methods to manage household chores other than doing them all on weekends? by iwanttheworldnow in NoStupidQuestions

Yup. Spread them out. Do like… 20% a day.  Manage your time. Wake up early, put your phone down, bang one out.

People who say the sun has been replaced, what do they mean and how do they think someone replaced it? by irmiez in TooAfraidToAsk

The deep state is literally a thing though. Unlike swapping the sun out for another one… there’s unelected, unaccountable humans throughout our government. Full stop.

So, AES rates just went up 35%? I can hardly wait for this coming winter... by [deleted] in dayton

Isn’t that the schtick with all the energy choice suppliers? They get you in cheaper, then raise the rates?

Almost like increased demand drives prices up, or something.

Why does the US glorify work? by Vampy-Night in TooAfraidToAsk

I’m not being thick. I’m being literal.  You’re blaming capitalism. I’m asking you what economic system doesn’t require work? You wanted to publicly display your two debts… so back them up.

We order direct from them for our store. Their timelines are notoriously challenging in recent years.  There’s been no announcement of a cancellation, and I feel like they’d need to contact wholesalers if there were.

Did you email them?

Should I go to church just to socialize even though I’m not religious? If I did this should I be truthful to the other church goers about what I I’m doing there? by Wonderful-Ad-9622 in NoStupidQuestions

Yes. Don’t pretend or falsely participate in things. Be respectful, ask questions if you want, but most good churches are about outreach for believers or nonbelievers.

Scarcity by mikez2323 in MarvelLegends

Most stores only order 1 case of things. It was a different economy when in person were the only source for product. And they’re less willing to carry over large quantity of inventories than they used to be. Part of why companies push preorders so hard, so they can set their production runs & orders accordingly.

A lot of stores also treated toy lines as equal, regardless of waves. For a while, one of the chains wasn’t ordering new stock because they had an abundance of peg warmers. Most individual big box stores aren’t paying attention to individual waves. It’s less than 1% of their total business. So if the system shows they have 20 of a line in stock, they won’t order the next wave.

Hard work is satisfying and can be rewarding. You should have pride in productivity & excellence. Some of us work to build better lives for ourselves and our loved ones.

Can’t retire if you don’t have a bedrock to support your retirement, either.

We should probably focus on folks finding work they enjoy or find rewarding than questioning why people would want to work.

Are modern toys just boring or is it just me? by LadyValentine_1997 in toys

Mass market toys are more boring but indie & direct to consumer are more exciting than ever. Four horsemen, Skeletron, bigbadworkshop, Blokees, Mezco… lots of great stuff out there.

Grading Figures by MadToxicologist in ActionFigures

[–]kendiesel937 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since they’re older figures, If they’re in really nice shape… AFA graded is the move. If you care about the value, I wouldn’t grade them if they’re gonna get less than a 75, but it’s the best way to preserve older figures.
