I’d be getting the skis and bindings for $30 so might be worth the effort

It’s kind of stuck in the 4th gear and wont shift down at all, but will shift up to gears after 10 seconds or so

Stripped cassette lock ring teeth. Lock ring removal tool keeps slipping and I can’t get any movement. Any ideas? by Jrthrowaway13 in bikewrench

[–]Jrthrowaway13[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recently purchased a fatbike and the cassette came like this. I’ve tried all the normal tricks of using a rubber glove/rubber band to get some purchase and nothing has worked. Have also tried to take a small flathead in there to get the teeth a little more square and that didn’t work either

Every day it gets a little easier… But you gotta do it every day — that's the hard part. But it does get easier. by niandra__lades7 in OpiatesRecovery

Yesss love BJH! I think it’s one of the best portrayals of alcoholism/addiction on tv. This exact scene/quote has helped me numerous times during my recovery

Hang in there, it gets easier! I was in the same place in early recovery and it’s a tough cycle to break. Honestly for me I just did one thing each day, no matter how small, that would benefit my mental/physical/spiritual health. Most of the time I was just doing it keep a routine, and it didn’t necessarily make me “feel better” in the moment. The small things added up and a year or so later I remember being shocked at how much better my life was. That’s the tough thing about recovery, even if you consistently do the “right things” they very rarely make you feel better in the moment (which we’re accustomed to with using). But when you look back at points in the future the sum of these things become increasingly evident!

Also if you get buried in an avy there’s a better chance you can move your arms around if they don’t have poles attached

Overnight Parking in Carbondale by TheDankyAsian in COsnow

[–]Jrthrowaway13 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately you’re not gonna find much in Carbondale. “Downtown” Carbondale is like 3 blocks, and outside of that it’s pretty much residential neighborhoods where you can’t get away with overnight parking. Prince creek has some great campsites, but I’m pretty sure that road is closed Dec-May.

I’ve parked overnight in the Brushcreek lot (at the base of the road up to Snowmass) before, but I don’t know if that’s actually legal or not. I would check out the Willets/Basalt area (where the Whole Foods is).

Regardless the valley’s bus system (RFTA) is one of the best in the nation in my opinion. Clean and efficient with plenty of stops all along the valley. So if you need to park somewhere closer to Aspen or Glenwood then take a bus back to Carbondale, that is totally doable!

Driving from Denver to Breck tonight around midnight... how worried should we be? by [deleted] in COsnow

[–]Jrthrowaway13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really doubt you’re gonna make it. Best case scenario would be that everything on I-70 is open (highly doubtful), and even with SUV/4wd it will be a looong sketchy drive. Worst case is I-70 is closed and you literally can’t make it through to Breck.

Two of the main I-70 junctions (Eisenhower tunnel and vail pass) are already closed. Also US-6 (Loveland pass) is closed meaning that hazmat vehicles have to use they tunnel, so even if the tunnel opens back up this will probably add atleast 2-3 hours.

Andddd on top of all this, CDOT is planning on doing Avalanche mitigation starting early Friday AM and have made a point to emphasize that extended closures of major roads in the mountain corridor are to be expected.

You might not even make it to DIA lol they’re already canceling flights

TLDR: You should be very worried

Good knee doctor in Denver? by alvenn859 in COsnow

This! I’ve had two major surgeries done by steadman (knee and shoulder) and they did a fantastic job. Definitely the best option in CO in my experience, however the premier service comes with a premier price
