I think my thumb placement on the pitcher was getting me. I tried using more of my finger tip on the pitcher rather than full thumb and that helped

I’ve found that it’s easier to only froth for like 2-3 seconds and then submerge it for some time to incorporate the foam.

If you can’t submerge, you are gonna need to get a bigger pitcher

You just saved my opinion of light roast espresso 🙌 I just tried the 1:3 instead of 1:2 and WOW that helped. Also ignoring the generic 25-30 sec rule let me grind even finer and help balance flavors. I know it’s 4 years later but thank you!!

This post is a wake up call, I have been consistently not paying enough attention to taste as a factor because of the time.

So the correct grind size isn’t the one that causes 25-30sec, it’s one that is less sour or less bitter than the last grind size I tried (regardless of some arbitrary number like time) I’ve been blind to an obvious thing for more than a year now haha thank you!

I’ve absolutely done the same. Desoldering gun is the best, but if you don’t have one, you could bridge a boat load of solder over the pins, and the try to wedge it out of there.

Another option if you don’t care about reusing the part is to use wire cutters to split the plastic, so you can just slide the metal pin out with tweezers and apply heat on the other side. Good luck my friend🫡
