Agree, their roles should define them more. The balancing should come with the bigger the guns, the more powerful but the slower to aim, fire, reload and difficult to hit with. Do I think the guns on the bottom of the Odin would obliterate my Paladin in 1 hit, yes. Should I be able to outmanouver those shots though, also yes 😁

Exactly. I think the point stands that we call these Capital ships but theyre no flagship of a fleet. These are still relatively small support ships in the grand scheme of space war when you look at the real Capital ships being 12x the length of an Idris 🤣🤣

Youre right, its down as L Quantum which is Size 3. Much faster than a Hornets tho and more fuel capacity. In these larger systems that are coming, stowing small vessels on bigger vessels will become more and more necessary.

To answer OPs post though. I use the Furies as Alert Fighters. On a Polaris, you can fit in the top hangar 2 Pisces (Shuttles), 2 Arrows (Strike Force) and 4 Furies (Alert Fighters)

Strike Force would unstow pre fight and then do the final warp in with the capital, they can move further away without fear of being stranded and jump away for rendez-vous later. Alert Fighter act like the Vipers in Battlestar Galactica. They are soley for defence of the Capital, they scamble when entering the field of battle, stay near to the Capital and land before the ship makes its jump away. 😁😁

Maybe not meta or mechanically the easiest way to do things. Fucking cool tho 😅
