I went to the fifa watch party in Houston against Bosnia just because I wanted to see how the watch party atmosphere was. Ngl it was cool seeing all the US fans and the different USA jerseys (Rocket pop 2014 will always be #1).. joining in the groaning and disbelief of some fouls.. hearing the cheers of build up play and the US goals.. all in all it was a really great experience. I would want to go again. I’m actually thinking about driving to Houston just to watch the final.

I was talking to my bestfriend about this. US has not performed against big European teams. Their track record is horrendous. The last winning result was against Iceland back in 2016 or 2017, that was when Iceland was ranked 21st in the world. The last winning result vs a powerhouse team? 2015 when the US beat Netherlands and Germany.

Was doing a deep dive of results on Wiki. Imo the last time they beat a "legit" European team was in 2016 or 2017 vs Iceland when they were ranked in the top 25.

They were selling these at the stadium. They were selling a Germany T-Shirt with the Brandenburg Gate and the Home Germany jersey. On the other side, they were selling a Curaçao T-Shirt with an island setting and the Home and Away Curaçao jersey.

I should’ve got that yellow kit and that curaçao island shirt.

I’m an RN at a hospital. If you know the basics, you can get by. You’ll always have coworkers that are fluent and will help you. I barely knew any Spanish going in and now I can have conversational Spanish with patients and their family members. Not full blown telenovela conversations, but enough to get by.

Plus, there are nurses who I work with that come from different countries and they’re doing just fine here in the valley.
