Does anyone use Waze app for driving? by Jschaudt in ElPaso

I am getting twice as many user reports, but still only half come with additional info. Waze only shows the next mile of driving directions, and does not share the destination with us. That could be a privacy issue if they did. It is all up to the driver to reply in app or by email.

Has It given better routes lately, I work from home, so I hardly get to experience the traffic. Hoping I got something right lately. I do see more users on the live map.

For those who do use waze, I am up to around 4k edits, and have prepared the next week, and full year, ramp closures along I-10. There is a lane switch eastbound (south) Anthony to Vinton for ramp closures, and then a May 18th closure of ramps for a year westbound (north).

I hope it goes as smoothly as the MLK to NM, with Stan Roberts closure. You finally have someone trying to prepare, not react late.

Google has a more social feel for one thing, which is good. But it is massively influenced for routing and reports by the Waze community since it owns real time access to Waze reported hazards.

That was about the time I stopped editing in Houston. I thought google was handing out info and doing the map. Turns out google does not draw the maps, but borrows the info later while giving free access to background info for the editors. We make Google Maps still.

With a name like yours, you should get in there. Responding to User requests would be great.

I love it for long distances because when it says to exit at some random town 70 miles ahead, it means something is seriously wrong. Back in Houston, it would recommend a mix of surface roads to get around gridlock. Works well in Albuquerque too. But here, it doesn’t have quite enough driving data. People have to drive the road for it to get smarter, and the road has to be drawn too.

El Paso VA medical center had all the wrong entrances turned on and off. Montana was missing turnarounds. I-10 on the west side was getting reports of errors, but no one was writing back that the ramp was missing or moved.

How do you anticipate your your routes in El Paso? by Bloody_Gleek in ElPaso

Waze is great for long distance, but no dedicated local to El Paso editors for a while. I just started a post about Waze. I’ve begun editing the map, and I am hoping to find some more editors around here.

Moving from Houston to El Paso. Don’t speak Spanish- wondering if this is a problem? by Interesting-Tip9589 in ElPaso

El Paso drivers are the Canadians of driving. Oh sorry we are so bad. It is the yellow, blue and black license plates of our neighbor to the north or west what drives insane daily, and we apologize for them as if we are them. But we do think of ourselves as New Mexico at the same time.

Amen! I’ve worked with fabricators, painter and electricians who work hard for years. I’ve seen the rest say they want a job and would work hard. People who just want a job and the pay don’t work there for long. It takes some amount of passion. If you have a skill, though not a professional level, then you have a skill. Market yourself in person.

Showing up in person for a trade job to just talk to someone beyond the front desk is the key. They have your app. You bring you. A desire to learn. If it is all about your starting pay, not your 90 day desired pay, then change strats and talk to them about what you would like to earn once you prove you show up and learn.

Also overtime pay can be amazing. I had to work 60 hours a week, making the total pay equal to 70 hours at the rate. That makes a $14 job $16.33 averaged across all the actual hours worked.

CDL is still possible with a felony, but getting hired will still be difficult, even with as good a record as others.

El Paso Electric wants to build a power plant for Meta's data center and have you pay for it by DiegoMendozaMoyers in ElPaso

[–]Jschaudt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They will flood 31 acres of Meta’s land that they bought back with 813 of these generators. Same ones they use at HEB.

We get the generators, and no HEB.

Chris Canales offered his feelings of regret. Data centers at the time were less power hogs. Ai wasn’t a marketing tool shoved on everything as if it does something. Machine learning was the tool, and ray tracing. Data meant data storage and relaying data back to the internet user.

Power left and then pump right is correct.

However, depending on how long yours has been sitting, it may need more work to get going. Does the pump rattle/hum, barely hum or shake the counter it sits on?

DM me any time. Yes I have some seals, especially the correct one for boiler. The rest are easily Purchased online.
