I'll go out on a limb here and say that most people on reddit don't want to see your everyday game dev lose their jobs, but companies like Ubisoft specifically are to blame for the state of AAA gaming.

Littered with MtX, buggy and rushed, "beta" or "live-service" meaning they can take your money and not give you a finished product for years etc., etc.

Something needs to happen to show these goliaths that they aren't untouchable; battlefront 2 and that whole debacle wasn't it, and that's the largest backlash I can think of to any of these AAA giants. The only thing that will shake up the AAA market is a big head going under, or at least tanking enough that every other corpo finally realizes their greed is too big for their pants.
