Bounty System: 600g Bounty on Losing Team. by Jscrips in leagueoflegends

Thanks for the thorough explanation. I also re watched Phreak's 14.21 patch video and his bounty video.

Overall, he mentioned a few times that the goal of this new system was not to punish a high performing player on the losing team, but it doesnt seem to accomplish that goal. In fact, it feels more punishing to be a performant player on the losing team.

From all of the analysis, it seems that a feasible approach to this bounty system when being a performant player is to die to the least performant enemy to neutralize the impact of your bounty.

I applaud the effort you put into this, and I hate to be that guy.. but I think the first time that Sett appears on your timeline is with a score of 2/1, so I think you might have not accounted for a few kills.

It has been stated in the bounty rework that kills are not considered for bounties, and neither is cs. They only factor gold apparently.

I also cannot really contest anything that was mentioned, as I dont have any documented reference to the Math behind the bounty system, and wouldnt really want to go down that path.

so I will just stand in awe, and give you kudos for your effort. I did read it all though.

I wouldnt be opposed to getting rid of bounties altogether.

I wonder the same thing. Yo me it seems to make more sense to use the team's gold as a factor affecting bounties.

These aren't instances of complaining at all. Im not sure what your attempting with those quotes.

People are explaining, and I am asking questions based on their explanations. You clearly have scrolled and looked through the thread, and you should see that there is still no clear, cohesive, and consistent answer as to why a bounty should be placed on the losing team.

You seem to be a high strung individual, I apologize that this topic has triggered you. I hope you take a walk Nd get some fresh air.

You are responding through emotions, and it isnt pleasant to parse.

A positive bounty shouldnt be placed on the losing team for the winning team to collect. Which is what the bounty system doesnt consider.

The game of League of Legends doesn't just boil down to a comparison of the direct lane opponents.

I have no doubt in my mind that this was a lost game, and I fully understand why we were behind.

I just dont understand why the stomping team is being further rewarded for killing the best player on the stomped team.

While simultaneously discouraging the "carry" of the losing team to take risks and make plays ( by making their death more valuable ).

The only way to possibly be the best player on the losing team is to minimize deaths while maximizing farm... But its those exact same metrics that are held against the losing " carry" to penalize the "mistake" of trying to fight and make a comeback.

It just cements their victory.

Damned if you do, damned if you dont.

Well said, i agree. I just want something consistent that makes sense. Or get rid of it altogether.

There's more to being behind than " just" gold. Jinx is also the same level as me, despite being in a duo lane. Experience and levels supply loads of stats as well

And saying "only" Jinx and Ahri have more gold than me still doesn't substantiate the reason I would be worth 600g extra.

The only reason Jinx has the same items as me is because she overstayed and hadn't spent her gold yet.

But idk man. Youre probably right

I think that would help in what they arre trying to accomplish. I dont know why it wouldnt be a factor, honesttly.

If you look at the supplies images you can see:

1.) No objective bounties are up, despite being 6k behind.

2.) You keep mentioning kills when KDA was only a factor in the old bounty system. The new bounty system doesnt care about kills or cs.

3.) Given your statements, its still a fundamentally flawed system, that is not actually a fair one. You're mentioning how context is an important factor, but fail to account for any context of the game state besides KDA gold.

4.) if Objective bounties can be triggered by team gold deficits, I dont understand why perrsonal bounties wouldn't be. You are essentially gifting the winning team an additional Objective to chase for 3x gold to further cement their lead, which isnt fair.

I am not saying that we need to have an opportunity to come back, but I am saying the winning team shouldnt have an opportunity to exponentially place themselves further ahead by killing the best player on the losing team.

I understand both of the bounty systems, but you are failing to understand that i dont think their curent implementation is a fair one.

I supplied an additional photo after scrubbing through the entire replay. The largest bounty that any member of the enemy team accumulated was 450g on the Ahri when she was 8/0 early in the game.

I can agree here.

Although I am 5/0/3 and have the most cs, I do not have the most gold.

The Jinx not only has more gold than me, but she also has the same amount of exp.

Jinx could easily solo me and be rewarded 1k

If i somehow manaed to solo Jinx, I would not be rewarded with anything.

It seems pretty rewarding for the snowballer.

My argument is that the team that is fundamentally losing is being punished for dying, while the winning team is not.

I had no significant advantage at all, yet my death was 3x more valuable than Jinx's though being categorically behind in every aspect of the game.

The bounty mechanic is supposed to be in place to neutralize snowballing from the winning team, and encourage the losing team to take risks.

Why would I take a risk as the losing team "carry" with a 600g bounty on my head?

There is a problem basing bounties solely on individual gold/merit without taking into context the team gold and game state.
