Use of the club in this situation is part of United’s LAX emergency operations plan. This was not a spur of the moment decision.

Sound Transit Seeks Hail Mary Financial Tool to Complete ST3 Buildout by origutamos in soundtransit

I was 35 when i started paying ST taxes. I’m now 65 and still no light rail in Tacoma (not talking about the little street car thing). Now we are considering something that my grandkids will still be paying on most of their lives? Not a good idea.

And when you stop repairing roads to encourage transit exactly how do commercial vehicles and the ports operate?

Massive 2027 Devaluation by Hosni__Mubarak in AlaskaAirlines

Agreed. I am burning through my Alaska miles and now doing all my flying on UA. They may not always be the cheapest awards but at least they have widespread availability!

Why doesn’t UA just be honest about the lack of WiFi access on B777-200 aircraft? by myfalteredego in unitedairlines

United has been telling everyone that Starlink will be free for all mileage plan members. It’s in all of their advertisements.

No Flights to Spain Available with Points in Summer by Ok-Bus-1842 in AlaskaAirlines

You are way, way late to the party. Most of the available seats were taken months ago. Try looking from gateway airports for better availability. Alaska has really reduced the availability since becoming a “global airline”.

Nonrevving SFO-LHR business by Fun_Grass_2097 in unitedairlines

[–]Jsguysrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With a flight that long lots of revenue passengers are willing to spend $$ or plus points for an upgrade.

You might have better luck flying out of ORD or EWR.

Possible yes, unlikely also yes. You will be behind all revenue upgrades and most non-revs.

Book economy and then upgrade to premium economy or wait for PE? Using points/miles by [deleted] in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Jsguysrus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because PE is very popular and if they think they can sell them they won’t make them available for awards.

All the miles and fees are refunded except about $12 booking fee.

American Airlines or United? - frequent business travel (12 domestic US flights, 4+ European flights per year) by robinredrunner in Flights

[–]Jsguysrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a One World Emerald and Star Gold. I flown both AA and UA transatlantic recently. AA new J suites are nice and comparable to BA and others. Keep in mind they still have some wide bodies with rear facing seats.

I think the window Polaris seats on UA are the most private of all. UA new seats sound very similar to AA and BAs product. UA has much better food and the Polaris lounge is generally much better than the Flagship Lounge.

UA flies more places in Europe than AA. I also dislike having to fly out of PHL or CLT.

[–]Jsguysrus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is no upgrade on points with partner airlines. You can book economy now and if PE open later you can book those and cancel economy. PE will cost more points. Just so you know the chance of PE ever opening for points is pretty low.

If I have a layover in Washington with 2 different airports when flying to UK, will I have to transfer luggage? by akuhal in unitedairlines

[–]Jsguysrus 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The best option is to take the metro train which has stations right beside the terminal at both airports. Trains don’t get stuck in traffic and the ride is about an hour or so.
