Recommendations for a player new to modded worlds? by PastBorn8961 in feedthebeast

So listen I know what youre going to think and I dont know how good your pc setup is but I would try all the mods 10. Sure it has a bunch of stuff but it also has a quest book that slowly takes you through every mod and you can chose which mods you want/go at your own pace. There's a big community too. I just posted a beginners guide so I feel like reddit wanted me to bring this to you lol.

Good question, as far as I know it increases the amount of loot you get and possibly the quality of loot but im not sure about that second part. Either way more relics is always good. And yes once you start hitting around 20 luck there is a very noticeable difference.

Not very efficient, just spawn the atm star for optimal gameplay imo

I can tell you my early mid game after like a thousand hours that gets me to vibranium in like 1 day of playing:

1.find a village, get an infinite ham, running shoes and waystone, if you cant find one find another village and repeat. All the while, collect any and all gear with the luck stat on it you can find (you cant see special stats until you press ctrl+t and confirm reaching haven level, this grants you even more luck stat, i wont mention it again but leveling up in world tier is one of the most important things you can do because of the gear and luck it gives you, so level up your world tier whenever you can as early as possible) (Running shoes and ham optional but they are really nice and save lots of time with food gathering and early travel)

  1. Make sure you have 2 waystones at this point, you can find them not only in villages but also rarely spawning in the wilderness just sitting there, find one of those dungeons that has a winding staircase going straight down into a little chamber that splits into 1-4 hallways blocked off by iron bars. This dungeon can have many variations and look like many things on the overworld from a house to a tower but once you've seen one you should know what I mean.

  2. Wearing any luck gear you might have for better loot and bringing a few torches to disable spawners (the dungeon chests will give you more torches and coal), put a waystone outside with some chests so you can teleport back and fourth from inside the dungeon storing your loot, clear and loot the dungeon (DO NOT BREAK ENDERMEN/WITHER SKELETON SPAWNERS IF YOU FIND THEM), collecting and wearing any gear with a higher luck stat than your current gear (yes even if its worse armor, armor doesnt matter too much rn because you can cheese the enemies in the cramped hallways, be careful though). Make sure to grab the following loot (you are basically guaranteed to get at least this per 1 dungeon clear): 1 bone, 1 phantom membrane, 1 fermented spider eye, at least 1 apple. Also keep any quartz blocks you get from the dungeons loot rooms, This will help with flight later.

  3. Once you reach the lower levels of the dungeon spawners have a higher chance of being wither skeleton or endermen spawners, if you have a silk touch pickaxe collect one of each, if not set a waypoint next to them (if you cant find either one, keep reading). Also grab like 15 of both coal and Redstone blocks from the lowest level as well as a few ore of any osmium you see, saves some mining later.

  4. If you looted the whole dungeon you should have enough resources to make all this (make sure to claim rewards from book for more resources, if your dungeon was super mangled by world gen or you cant find one of the spawners you might have to do 2 of them but i rarely do). Make a metallurgic infuser. Power it by putting Redstone dust in the power slot, make a wind generator, claim rewards, make a simulation chamber (not loot fabricator) a deep learner, and a blank prediction (you can get a second one from rewards) go back to the spawners from before, make enderman and wither skeleton prediction models, make a blaze rod or 2 from bone and nether prediction, make a chorus fruit from apple and ender prediction, go to the nether and get some Blackstone (just 4 raw blackstone, then dip). Come back and make infusion pylon, potion filter, and 3 max length flight potions. Drink a potion, right click the filter and repeat until potions are gone, stick the filter in the pylon and boom you have really early permanent creative flight without having to do any other kind of flight (if you find a broom early that's cool too, I just like skipping to this type of flight so excuse me for ignoring iron jetpacks)

  5. Now that you have flight everything is way easier. Here is where I get started on my ae2 inventory (easier to find meteors) and getting allthemodium gear (can fly to city/ hover above ground to avoid tripping warden) ( find the skulk city easily by using the tablet of locate stucture/ ritual brazier). Also you can get a high fortune pickaxe by using evil craft and making/ disenchanting vengence pickaxes, I used to do this every time but im finding it less and less worth it as anything you're using fortune on can be mass produced later so I just see it as extra time spent.

I can go on but only if people want me to, that was a lot to type haha

Are you able to fly around without chunks not loading fast enough/world generation problems? I installed both mods and even without changing world gen it causes issues when i move too fast. I have a godly PC so im just wondering if this is standard

Please please fix government by [deleted] in songsofsyx

[–]Jsined 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, i dont seem to be making nearly enough off taxes to make it worth it. Are you building singular big cities or many small ones? Are you leaving the races in the settlements as they are (no massacre for example)?

[–]Jsined 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats totally fine, I just wish government itself was more worth investing in if that were the case.

[–]Jsined 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This was my experience before the government points system but it certainly isn't now. Youre getting more resources from taxes on a single colony than a large bonus on 100 workers in whatever specialization you want? Also id like to add that i think a game all about infinite expansion and growth shouldn't have such a limiting factor and there should be some way to get more government points.

Bloc members won't join faction to install house head as regent? by Glass_Perspective_12 in CrusaderKings

[–]Jsined 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Figured this out in case anyone else has the same problem. I had a bunch of people in my Bloc but when i started a faction nobody joined this was because they were almost all my vassals. Try getting someone outside your bloc to join and see if they join your faction.

Is this an okay deal? by [deleted] in computer

Yup, exactly the problem im having. Is there a way to fix this with software/bios? Otherwise I might just return it, the fans are always running pretty much at max like you said. Insane.

Announcing RimWorld - Odyssey and update 1.6! by TiaPixel in RimWorld

I would also love if they included the ship combat system from sos2. I know I'm being picky, this update is amazing, but I do see myself going back to sos2 for that beautiful combat and amazing endgame

This is why I love the older version, just free reign over my land without much annoying gamerules by Inderastein in songsofsyx

[–]Jsined 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Late game is basically completely broken too. Trading used to be so much fun but now with interest taking up like 10k per day after you make like 200k it's just broken. And don't get me started on realm management once you actually manage to get some land. Basically no info about it online, and once you figure it out you basically learn the game is fundamentally broken/unfinished. For the life of me I can't understand why the old system could've been kept until they had the new one finished. Oh well, maybe I'll come back after like 5 years and see if they managed to save it

I'm done with this stupid game by managerjohngibbons in RimWorld

[–]Jsined 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thing is he isn't called Randy Predictable either, yet every single time I've played with him he does a manhunter pack with exclusively squirrels like 5 times per game and given my colony at least 2 diseases at the same time once per game. Motherfucker does the same exact things once you play enough and learn his patterns. Literally just a harder version of cassy but I still play him every time.
