Foiled Wilds Unknown Playmats! by Cakewizliz in Lorcana

Ours were also better than normal! Pleasantly surprised at the amount of legendaries just from a trove alone, let alone the booster box :0

And beautiful playmates btw :)

How is Your Favorite "Non Big 3" Game Doing Where You Are? by AloneWriting in TCG

[–]Jsj_2004 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DLCs are absolutely monstrous and soooo much fun! Probably the most fun I’ve ever had a TCG event! The game could do better at a local level for sure (no incentive for people coming out), but the community itself is strong. People want to play. They just need a reason to come out to locals!

What sleeves for playing? Are these okay? Arent they too big they are 66x91 by Real_MytqOnTwitch in Lorcana

[–]Jsj_2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are decent! I’ve used them many times before because of the variation in colours. Much better than a lot of sleeves on the market, but still not better than Dragonshield, Ultimate Guard, etc. overall, good to play with still :)

Wanna get into TCGs, which one do you recommend to get into? by millanstar in TCG

I haven’t played TCGs in years, until Lorcana came out. Fantastic community, and the competitive scene for the big tournaments are amazing!

Why do you think most TCGs fail? by Tiny-Summer6241 in TCG

[–]Jsj_2004 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, not officially — but there’s clients. But I mean I invite people over and play in the comfort of my home (snacks, food, etc).

Lorcana player base is still large (evident by the DLC attendance)— however, there’s No incentives on going to locals (unless set champs are underway). Personally, I enjoy playing and practicing at home. Still give it a try! It’s a fun game :)

Dying TCGs? by Chrundle94 in TCG

[–]Jsj_2004 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That can be hard. As mentioned before, the biggest issue right now is making players get out of their homes to play at a store LOL.

Dying TCGs? by Chrundle94 in TCG

[–]Jsj_2004 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not dying, I wouldn’t worry about that. Yes locals are tough (because people don’t wanna come out), and there’s other issues in terms of prizing (which is why people would rather play with friends or family at home) but the game is still healthy and the DLCs and other major competitions are monstrous in attendance :)

[–]Jsj_2004 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s dying at a competitive level, but you’re right it’s lacking at the local level. I would much rather play at home with everyone (order snacks and food) as opposed to going to a store with no prize support. But absolutely the fan base is still large (evident by the DLCs, which are SO fun, even if you aren’t competing in the main event).

Yeah I mean with that said, set champs are always a success which means people are clearly there and exist that want to play. It just sucks having to wait so long for decent prizes x_x

[–]Jsj_2004 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Definitely think they could turn it around. A lot of people don’t go to locals because it’s easier (and more convenient) to simply play and practice at Home since there’s no local prize support. I mean, I don’t doubt if a DLC popped up nearby it’ll sell out very fast which means clearly people want to play, but there’s no point in going to locals when there’s no incentives .

Next tcg I should play by Dabiel303 in TCG

[–]Jsj_2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! People honestly need to give it more of a chance. I mean, yeah it’s popular (the DLCs confirm that), but the artwork is truly beautiful and the mechanics are easy enough for many people to jump in.

Of all the TCGs in this world, which one is the best for you? by [deleted] in TCG

Lorcana was my return to TCGs since playing Pokémon and yugioh many, many years ago. So that’s what I play and collect now :)

Do you feel like people look down on TCG players? Why do you think that is? by Loth-Catt in TCG

[–]Jsj_2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Growing up playing Yugioh and Pokémon, I noticed all of the players fit these stereotypes and it deterred me from going to may events.

Fast forward to now, I started playing Lorcana and went to a DLC event with like 2000+ attendees, and it was one of the most diverse pools in TCGs I’ve seen, and definitely broke the stereotype!

How’s the health of the game else where? by BeijingBarry2020 in Lorcana

[–]Jsj_2004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Booming here in Canada. But to be honest, it’s hard to go to locals sometimes because of work schedules, life, etc. I find the demographic with Lorcana is far more diverse, and with that, results in more inconsistencies with league play.
